Coach of the Year

Featured Replies

Feldhaus is coaching a team who won the KY State AAU tourney in 8th grade. LOTS of talent there.

Humphrey is coaching a team with almost "0" varsity experience. Best "coaching" job he's done since being at GRC.

Although Feldhaus is a great coach, I believe the best coaching this year would have to go to Humphrey.

Didn't Steiner and Humphrey coach together at SK

Yes the entire time I was there actually. In fact at one point SK coaching staff consisted of Head Coach Scott Humphrey now at GRC, Assistant Coach Trent Steiner now head coach at SK and Assistant Coach Brad Carr now the head coach at Scott High School.

Just wait awhile and you can hand over the trophy to Coach Booher at Holmes.

This year?

Wow!! what a coaching staff!!

There are several coaches across the state that I am sure is deserving. I will be a "Homie" and say GRC's Coach Hemphrey. He has taken a team with little to no experience and has them ranked #10 in the state and a 25-5 record with a very strong schedule. GRC is the suprise team in the state this year. GRC was ranked by the Cats Pause pre-season as the # 6 team in the region....now they are the team to beat in the 10th. Just amazing at the job he has done this year with this team.

He certainly has done a better job this year than the last 2 but I don't know how you can say that the largest school in the region with several returning players from last years varsity and an undefeated Freshman team last year being as good as they are is a surprise. They got kids in the band that would start for most teams in the 10th region. Sorry but I don't buy the theory and I've never been overly impressed with Coach Humphrey. He may be great but the expectation in my book with the tools and numbers he has is always a region title and anything less is a failure IMO.

From a Mason Co fan of course.....rolleyes.gif

If they are able to get to rupp i think you have to consider Mike Jones of Harlan Co. Team is 26-4 headed into dist. tourney. This would be 3rd different 13th region team he has gotten to rupp if they are able to pull it off. Will be even better next yr as they 5 juniors and a fresh. out of top 7 players.

I'll go with Mason County product Allen Feldhaus, Jr. Only one hiccup along the way. Getting out of the 11th will be brutal, but if this is a regular-season thing then I will say. Junior and his Madison Central squad.

What is SK's record?

What is SK's record?

22 to 7 after tonight.
