Qryche11
Future does look brighter with the freshmen and sophomores. Im not positive but I think there is also a nice 8th grade group that Ryan Schrand coaches called the NKY Rockets who should have a lot of kids attending CovCath. Someone else may have more insight to this but they are a nice AAU team.

Some of those players I believe also play for the Blessed Sacrament School team coached by Coach Dick Maile and yes they are going to be very special. Heppler, Young and Massie all who have had or currently have older brothers who attended CovCath.

Flotsam
Great atmosphere for the game. I agree with the sentiments expressed about the CCH Chamber choir. A+++. I expected Hatton, Stansbury and Hassle to excel. They did not disappoint. Was very impressed with Fox and Evans, as well. Dixie is very solid. (query: would they be better with Pike. He would obviously add much on the court. Would it be enough to make up for the collateral baggage??) I thought Cleves was hard as nails on defense. He is fun to watch. To the extent Hatton and Ruthsatz crossed paths, the match-up would have to go to Hatton including a nice block on a Ruthsatz layup attempt. Nick had an off night shooting. It happens. Next time out he may set the place on fire. Tobler looked very strong inside. I would like to have seen Hayden a bit more. However, Coach Ruthsatz sees the kids everyday and probably has forgotten more about basketball than I will ever know. Very fun night, notwithstanding the outcome of the game. C-BOY78
CovCath had a terrible start getting down 16-2 in the first 4 or 5 minutes. They fought back, but poor outside shooting , bad decisions and a good Dixie team was to much to over come. On a side note, I do have a problem with a Dixie grad being one of the ref's. Please note the call's in the game had NO bearing on the out come of the game. I felt there were bad calls against both teams.

I think they would be much better with Pike. It would allow Stansbury to play more away from the basket where he is more comfortable. Pike would've given them the needed big body inside that can play both ends of the floor, and he could run in transition. I also thought he was 2 different kids when it came to football and basketball. The baggage didn't seem to follow him on the hardwood, probably because he wasn't the star. I will pose this as a question since I haven't seen all Dixie's games. As I look at Dixie's record and who beat them, is it accurate that Dixie has lost the tough games because they don't have a physical big man in the middle? My thinking on Dixie without Pike was that they would miss him in the games versus tough opponents. Dixie has the talent to win a lot of games and make it down state from region 9, but to have a real chance at a state title they needed Pike IMO.
