Two less heard of people that I'm considering are Jim Harrison and Ranulph Fiennes. Harrison might especially be hard to leave off. The main reason I'm not 100% is I have only in the last few years became aware of him.

Toss-up between Ernest Hemingway and Hunter S. Thompson

 

I'm still sticking with mine...but at this point I think I'd go with Hemingway over Thompson. Thompson would be number 5, Muhammad Ali would be number 6 - and although I would want to be able to communicate clearly with him, there's no way I wouldn't want to talk to current day Ali rather than pre-Parkinsons Ali. Number 7 would probably be Teddy Roosevelt.

 

Other folks I'd be rather interested to hear from would be Muddy Waters, Black Jack Pershing, Patton, Truman (how interesting would it be to chat about the decision to drop the atomic bomb???). Another couple guys who I think would just be darn cool to sip some suds with would be Sean Connery and Michael Caine. Those two have been awesome for decades. I'd just like to see what they're like and hear some stories.

I think I just assumed the sharing secrets thing was a part of the deal. That's the only reason I'd pick GHWB.

Dude's insanely significant to the modern world...like no one even realizes!! I do think I'd prefer to chat with him prior to his unfortunate "OCD/I love pigeons" stage of life, though.
