But since we're looking for people not quite as famous as the five above, I'll go with a foursome of:

 

* George H.W. Bush (I once saw a documentary claiming that he may have more secretive information than anyone alive right now, b/c of his CIA work, VP, & President. I'd like to know those secrets.)

 

* George W. Bush (Just for his thoughts on 9/11)

 

* John Wooden (for the basketball, life, & faith lessons)

 

* C.S. Lewis (just a brilliant mind & incredibly articulate defender of Christianity)

It's my understanding that Lewis and Tolkein were great friends and contemporaries. I've heard that they participated in the same reading or literary group; and that when it was Tolkein's turn to read, Lewis was known to have said something along the lines of, "I hope it's not more elves."

Your understanding is correct. Except I believe Tolkien was not fond of Lewis' fictional work.

Like both of these choices. I've often said that Dubya faced difficult circumstances than any modern President. Would be fascinating to pick his thoughts.

Never thought of Du Bois but that is an excellent choice and he is criminally unknown.

 

No idea who Llosa is, but I'd like to hear more.
