Sandman, let's remember that a persons perception is their reality. Doesn't mean that is what actually occurred just what they believe to be true. It's like getting eyewitness accounts of a car wreck, bank robbery etc....ask three people and you are going to get three versions of the "truth" of what actually happened. The "reality" is ingrained even more when there is bias present in a persons view of events.

If an official cursed a player has anyone else corroborated this "fact"? I've been to many high school games and unless yelling out a play or celebrating I've never been able to hear a conversation taking place on the court. I'm assuming RE is a player or possibly a coach who is close enough to hear court conversation?

We can repeat it if we're careful. I've been told by several credible sources (ie: Conner players who were on the court) that the official told #35, and I'm paraphrasing here, "That's BS. That's BS. Don't ever f@#king do that again. Not during my game". These were his comments as a result after #35 tried to "get in the head" of the St. Henry freethrow shooter by walking across the lane to trade spots with another Conner player right before the FT was attempted.

 

For the record, I was at the game. And the foul with .4 seconds left was highly questionable to say the least. IF, again, IF, it was a foul, then the referee on the opposite side of the court should have made the call (which he didn't). There's no way the ref who did blow his whistle could have seen it from his angle.

 

Not sure I'm willing to go as far as to say there was an unfair bias, rather chalk it up to incompetency.

Excellent unbiased post. I saw the ref talking to #35 but could not hear what was said from the stands and if that is what he said he should be diciplined. There are much better ways to handle that situation. Now I see where Roman's comments about the refs making it about themselves comes into play. What makes it the refs game?
