Awfully critical of the officials, and since I wasn't there you may be justified in your criticism overall.

To the first bolded, what does time and score have to do with a foul call? If it was a foul, it's the officials job to call the foul.

To the second bolded, what does the foul count have to do with anything? It's not the officials job to keep the foul count even. Officials should call what they see, and move on to the next play.

Finally, who were the other two officials?

To the first bolded. It must have alot to do with a foul call since a memo addressing this very point went out to the officials several weeks ago.

To the second bolded point. When the huge disparity in fouls is the result of missed calls on one of the teams, that's a problem. It's called biased officiated. It's real and it exists.

To the third bolded point. Have no idea, but would love to know where they rank in the 9th.

It was blatantly obvious that one official was manipulating this basketball game. These are two of the worst officials I have seen in the 9th.

Are you serious with that statement? Those are pretty big accusations your making against a referee RomanEmpire. Manipulating a basketball game?

For you to say the way this game was called was "unfortunate" is misleading......whats more unfortunate is a "one sided" fan getting on website and trying to make accusations and unknowledgable statements about an official who has much more experience making calls than a member of BGP.

Look...Im not saying these were great officials but this was no where near one of the top 10 worst games I've seen officiated this year. Was it a questionable call? Yes. Was it the ONLY questionable call? No. Did every single call go St Henry's way? An unbiased fan from Conner just said no way in an above post....Faust was upset with calls too.

Knowing Coach Hicks I know he was upset with the last call but I think he would disagree with RomanEmpire when saying 2 Refs are the reason Conner lost the game last night.

Couldn't disagree anymore with this post. It was blatantly obvious that one official was manipulating this basketball game. Everyone I talked to knew a foul would be called to end this game before it happened. These are two of the worst officials I have seen in the 9th.

Seriously? Did we watch the same game? Believe me I think officials could do a better job and am usually quick to critic them, but I saw nothing to lead me to say they were manipulating this game.

Well said! :thumb:

Back to the game....Nice 4th Quarter by Junior Michael Best. His picking of the pocket of the PG for a layup late in the 4th was huge play for St Henry. I thought Sam Dedden did a pretty good job on Drew Barker. Is Barker just a sophmore? He's a nice player, with good size and solid ball handling skills for a big man.

Both very nice players. Hils also a nice player. I thought #5 also had a nice game. What year are the starters for St. Henry? Nice group of players who play hard.

#24 for SH impressed me on a drive to the basket in the first half, didn't do much in the second but also sat out a lot.

What accusations and unknowledgable statements were made?

So unfortunate when officials try to make the game about themselves instead of the players. One of the refs even used some profanity towards a Conner player. Zero professionalism. one official was manipulating this basketball game.

All of these comments above would be what Im referring to.

Obviously, we agree to disagree. Nothing I said was false or unknowledgable. I speak for many who attended this game. You and I have differing opinions. Movin' on.

I was at the game to support Connor (for the record) the first bold point from my vantage point which was on that end of the court from right behind the St. Henry bench it was clearly a foul. The Connor player got no part of the ball at all attempting to block the shot and got all forearm. IMO it had to be called as the defense clearly gained an advantage. Unfortunate, way to end the game and St. Henry actually made a FT which they had been missing all night.

Second bold point, did you hear this? the only time I recall refs addressing the players was once during a small chippy incident in the second half under the St. Henry goal and right at the end when #35 for Connor clearly tried to intimidate the FT shooter after the TO preceeding the first made shot. Not sure what he said as he bumped the shooter but the ref under the basket did say something to him and it didn't look like profanity just a talking to about sportsmanship I presume. IMO not a class act on #35 for Connor I know frustration probably took over for this young man. Do I think the refs missed a few calls absolutely! Do I think Connor was much more aggressive on D than St. Henry, yes! More aggressive D leads to more fouls. Furthemore, the game was sloppy on both ends lots of turnovers and missed layups/put backs.

You were there to support Conner. Who is #35 for Conner?

According to KHSAA site 35 is Drew Barker. This was the first boys game I have watched of theirs, been watching and following the girls. Thought I would support the boys as well since it was a boy/girl double header. And your highlighted section on the class act was speaking of that incident only.

Congratulations to St. Henry on the win. They are playing very well this year and already have some very nice wins. Great job players and coach and good luck for continued success.

I find it fascinating that Coach14 spelled ConnEr correctly in a previous thread a week or so ago and suddenly forgot how to spell the name in this thread multiple times. Interesting?? No need to get on here and play games. Yet, "claims" to be a Connor supporter. Really?

I made a mistake and carried it thru the entire day, I admit I mispelled Conner several times today, I am sorry. I find it fascinating that when your point is discredited you resort to spelling errors. Has no bearing on who I was there to support. Who is playing games? Seems as if you are!
