Is this all we get from this game? Who did or did not play well? I noticed no Turner or Witte in the boxscore which was a little surprising. Also being down 44-22 at half does not bode well for a team that is running an uptempo style.

From what I was told the HHS offense seemed to slow down a bit - not pushing like they were in previous games. Might have something to do with first game back for the football players. Out of sync. No outside shooting.

Any details on why Highlands did not play better? I am surprised by this score. I thouhgt this would be a good game and also thought P Towles and the other football players would be back playing and would make a difference. Any updates or thoughts?

How much of an impact can football players have offensively w/ 2 weeks of practice or less? Rebounding, defense....yes, but offensively that takes time.

Wow! Highlands is really struggling this year.

CAMPBELL COUNTY 62, HIGHLANDS 36 – Camels junior guard/forward Nate McGovney scored 22 of his game-high 27 points in the first half.

 

In addition to his offensive total, McGovney tallied nine rebounds, three assists and four steals.

 

Senior forward Jared White added nine points, 10 rebounds and a pair of steals for the Campbell County.

It seemed to me Highlands wanted to push the tempo all night. They pressed full court all night. I don't think they stopped the Camels once with the press. They seemed to be chasing the Camels up the court all night. Then they pressured the Camels in the half court with little success. I thought they might back off and try to defend in the half court at some point, but never did. The Camels just out run them all night, on both ends of the court. The Camels also did a good job keeping the Bluebirds big men in check while pressuring the ball on the outside, and not giving the Bluebirds many good looks at the basket from the outside.

Didn't seem to take much time for Geisler and Highchew to adjust last year for NewCath when they came back from football, and I agree they definitely would help with rebounding and defense for sure. Just thought Highlands would give Campbell County more of a game and thought with the addition of the football players it would help them.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, how come Turner or Witte wasn't in the box score? Did they see less time with the football players, were they sick or hurt or just didn't score?
