The CovCath Freshmen continue their winning ways by defeating the Ryle Raiders in the Holy Cross Freshmen Christmas Tourney at Holy Cross by a score of 47-23.

CovCath was led in scoring by Romes who played a whale of a game tonight. Congrats young man!

CovCath scoring:

Romes 12pts

B. Schuh 9pts 9 rebounds 2 blocked shots

Shumate 6 pts 4 rebounds 2 assists

Murrer 6 pts

CovCath.... 13-08-15-11--47

Ryle Raiders 05-06-09-03--23

While I left after the 1st quarter of the Dixie Vs. PC game, my guess is that the CovCath frosh will be playing the Dixie frosh at 8pm on Wednesday at HC.

Top 5 Frosh are likely as follows.

McDonald-NCC

Stanley-Boone Co

Kunsten-St. Henry

Bolden- Covington-Potter- Holmes

Hathorn- Cooper

Robinson has been playing up at Simon Kenton since he was a 7th grader. He starts JV and get quite a few varsity minutes.

The few times I've seen the Holmes trio I've been most impressed with Bolden and Potter. Covington seems to be more fundamentally sound than Potter but Potter has a very high ceiling, IMO. Kid is a freak athlete. If he gets to 6'4 or 6'5 by his senior year, he is going to be very tough to stop.

Does anyone know who won the Dixie-PC game?

I would go with ....

Bolden or Robinson (6'4") at 1

Stanley, Moeves, Pangallo at 2

Schuh (6'4") at 3

McDonald (6'4") at 5

Kunstek (6'3") at 4

Off Bench

Potter

Covington

Hathorn

***** This team could compete at the AAU level*****

What about Dougherty from WV at the point?

December 28, 201114 yr

Boone beat Holmes in winners bracket and Ryle beat Pendleton County in losers bracket today.

December 29, 201114 yr

Who is the favorite to win the tourrnament?

I would have to say Cov Cath or Dixie, I have seen both in person and they are loaded. I might give the nod to Dixie due to their depth, they dont miss a beat with their 10th man on the floor.

Dixie best team in tourney ...Bo is great athlete but not close to best freshman in n. Ky.....coached against him alot....keep him out of paint a non factor

That's true of 99% of the "bigs" in NKY. McDonald would not be a factor out of the paint.

That's like saying "if you make Nick Ruthsatz post up he's not a factor."
