Just couldn't understand all the celebration after the game by the Montgomery Co fans. GRC went in the game as a heavy underdog, rated way down in the region after the loss of eight seniors and 4 starters from last year, Montgomery Co picked number one in the region with most of their starters back and the game being played at their place. It was a good game to watch but we (Clark Co )wasn't suppose to be in the game. Anyway, congrats to Montgomey Co on the win.

I didn't know it had been 10 games .Montgomery does have a fine player on the Prewitt kid. Has a good touch and good knowledge of the game. Very complete player. Handshoe also plays a good game.

Since when has ANYONE in the Montgomery County/George Rogers Clark game been a heavy underdog? Clark lost the underdog status when you beat CCH at Covington and if you had hit your free throws, you would have beat Madison Central (I think top 10) in Richmond. Plus, as everyone has stated, "The 10th is wide open" this year.

I agree in that the region is wide open. If you can remember last season that we had trouble beating Montgomery Co and we had a group of big boys with experience. I do think a lot of people thought it would be an easy game for Montgomery Co because of the loss of all those players.

I guess fans and kids are not allowed to be excited about winning a game in dramatic fashion over a team they havent beat in 5 years. Sounds like sour grapes to me from some of the GRC faithful.

Hasn't been 5 years. GRC and Montgomery usually play 3 or 4 times a year, a home and home series, district and regional. But either way a dramatic win to snap a 10 game streak and the kids had a right to be excited.

Agree with what you say, there has never been a game that either team "wasnt even supposed to be in". Even those years when Clark was loaded with talent, the games for the most part were close until the end. As far as the excitement goes, I know with all the changes going on over at MCHS and new things happening, the kids have been looking for something to get excited about, and this was just an opportunity to be excited about something over in Mt. Sterling. Big game, big rivalry, great atmosphere.

On a positive note, I thought both student sections were clean and represented their schools respectfully, usually not the case when these two teams meet in any sport.
