The woman was clearly insane,period.. She did not try to murder her children because of a food stamp issue.

So you are a psychiatrist and a seer ?
So you are a psychiatrist and a seer ?
Are you ? Why do you think she did it?

There was definitely something wrong with this woman if she took the lives of her children, given her circumstances.

Regardless, to blame someone else other than the mother would be quite silly.

I totally agree.

Totally agree. Certainly not a sane reaction.
Are you ? Why do you think she did it?
I am not but then again I am not the one making guesses why she did what she did , which was a heinous crime what ever the reasons or motivation . Matthew 7 .

There was obviously some desperation and certainly a lack of hope.

While the woman is to blame, circumstances cannot be ignored.

^A person's circumstances never cause them to murder, never. Trying to blame poverty or the welfare system for this is pathetic.

So you are saying that a person's circumstances NEVER cause them to murder, really? NEVER? A person's circumstances NEVER cause them to start cutting themselves, or drinking, or anything? It is all physiological, or psychological, huh?

The the kid who is sexually, or physically, or mentally abused for years and exhibits self destructive behavior or even lashes out at the perpetrator is not influenced by their environment. Interesting. I will take this theory to my social workers here at school and tell them how wrong we have been all along and that environmental factors have no impact on how people behave.

^The choice is still the individuals. Being poor is not a circumstance that causes one to murder. The fact that you're trying to portray it as such is disgusting. Personal responsibility doesn't exist in your world does it Ace? Seems you feel if a person is disadvantaged they can do whatever they like, laws be darned, and just blame it on their circumstances and everything is all right.

Absolutely. However, have the children died?

There was obviously some desperation and certainly a lack of hope.

So, how much weight does circumstances get? What role do they play?

BTW, there also seems like something else involved, given the missed appointments.
