Well Cupp I consider to be there best player. One of the top players in the district/region. She is just a solid athlete all around. I would not say the rest are great but there are some other good ones. HC with Moran and Grace if she plays.

NDA returns 8 starters (7 soph, 1 junior - including their top two pitchers) from a team that won district, beat HC 3 times and after losing by 2 runs in the regular season games, beat Holmes in the finals. Their lineup, pitching and total team talent will be enough to be the one or two really good players that Holmes and Holy Cross have. Honestly, Beechwood returns everyone from a team that played all three teams tough last year.

 

How come nobody ever looks at anybody from Holmes? They have some great players. What about Holy Cross they have some too?

Hopefully not - like HC's team and they got some very good offensive players and great kids. I am not familiar with these pitchers but hopefully they are enough to lead the Indians to be more competitive. You are right - its all about pitching. If you have a pitcher that can record 10-12 strikeouts a game, it takes a lot of pressure off the "team" and they only need to make about 10 routine plays a game.

I heard that ND has two freshman pitchers coming in that are better than the pitchers they had last season. Any truth to that? If so they should be very good and tough to beat in their district.

With catching being a very key position, the loss of a Senior pitcher and catcher both could be a lot to overcome. I saw NCC play a couple of times this summer and they had a few girls that may have some promise at the pitching position, just not sure if the catching positon may not be a problem.

I saw NCC play a couple of times this summer and they had a few girls that may have some promise at the pitching position, just not sure if the catching positon may not be a problem.

 

Trust me this position will NOT be the problem.

They changed it the last couple of years for the talented younger classes.

Is this a Diocesan rule or a ND rule? I thought all catholic high schools had to abide by the same rules as set forth by the Diocese of Covington. Is that not correct? If ND can have 8th graders playing varsity sports then the other catholic high schools in NKY would follow the same suit, correct?

Pretty sure HC has some 8th graders playing freshman hoops.
