Once you consider that Reyes will end up costing significantly less than Fielder and will probably also age better, he looks to be the more valuable signing." "They are going to be paying him $18.5 mil/season. With a win on the open market going for about $5 million, they would be paying him for a 3.7 WAR/season. He has been above 5.8 WAR in 4 of the last 6 seasons. He's also averaged 4.5 WAR the past 2 seasons and is still in his prime." "The last two seasons he has played in 259 games. That is more than Pedroia, Ellsbury, Kinsler, Hamilton, Zimmerman, Arod and Rollins. It's only 6 less games than Tulo has played. He also has a higher fWAR in those 259 games than Fielder does in the 323 games he has played over that span. The Marlins should be counting their lucky stars that he has only played in 259 games. If he had played in 320+ games he would be costing them $160-180 million."
December 5, 201114 yr CF would be interesting. Obviously has the speed.I'm hoping for 3B. Boni or the Cespedes takes over at CF. But I think he could handle either...just the hole at 3B is deeper and has a lot less to fill it than we currently have at CF.
