Any team stats available? I would be interested in knowing the three point and free throw numbers for each team.

 

I can tell you that Mason shot lights out from the 3 point line (especially in the first half), and couldn't have shot many FT's. I know with about 2 minutes left in the game, SL had only been whistled for either 3 or 4 fouls combined for both halves.

What happened to everyone saying Mason would be down this year? :lol: Good showing by the Royals, shows the 10th is better than people originally thought, as well as the Royals. :thumb:

I would like to know what Mason Co's shooting % was in the first half, they couldn't have missed more than 3-4 shots, and didnt cool down much in the 3rd.

Mason shot 61% in the first half on 14-23 from the floor. (6-10 from 3 pt range) and 54% for the game 26-48 from the floor and 9-22 from 3.

 

Big stat that jumps out at me was Mason turned it over 14 times to just 6 for South Laurel.

From what it sounded like per MHighfield's accounts last night, a majority of the TO's were in the last couple of minutes. If I remember correctly, they had a run of about 4 TO's in 5 or 6 trips late in the game, when SL was making their run. Unfortunate, as that probably cost them the W. Still a heckova showing, as many thought they'd get blown out; especially after PC's loss!!

The local radio said that South was 9-10 from the line in the last 3:30-4:00 of the game, not real sure that is accurate but just what they said. Proffitt was 7-8 and Goodin was 2-2.

Thats correct half or more of the turnovers were in the 4th.And that is where this young group will grow up from as the year goes along.Overall a very good showing from Mason.

I kept the scorebook for the game and Mason outplayed South Laurel until the final four minutes. The game was deceided on how the Refrees called the game. They let SL beat and attack our ball handlers all night with no fouls called. Profitt pushed Middleton down in the lane and they called Middleton for holding. Many of Mason's TO's were a result of the hack's. I don't know out of 10 Mason would beat SL but they did last night but the Refree's would not let them lose. Fouls were 16 to 5 and FT were 22 to 2. SL a great FT shooting team was in the bonus at the 6:00 minute mark and Mason was not in the bonus until they reached Richmond on the way home. SL fans should be feeling great about this victory. Profitt was the difference as Turner outplayed Allen although Allen hit the 3 that put them ahead.

As bad as I'd hate to say it, cause I'm a huge SL fan, I think I'd have to agree. I think if these teams play 10 games SL wins at least 8 of them, but last night Mason got one of their 2 wins out of 10 taken away! However, congrats SL!

From what I have seen and heard, South has one player who fouls virtually every trip down the floor. But if it's not getting called, then it's not a foul.

I agree that PC still has to be favored in the 10th, but at least maybe some of those up Falmouth way will at least write in the 'Cats 10th region championship in pencil now, instead of the ink they've been using!! :lol:

You know as well as everyone else that this was just another unfortunate case of the 13th Region officials taking care of their hometown team. It happens everywhere in the 13th and it's a shame that it has came to this. You should know better than anyone.
