Embattled White House hopeful Herman Cain on Saturday "suspended" his presidential bid after support dried up in the wake of accusations from a string of women that he had engaged in sexual impropriety.

Was it a wise decision for Mr. Cain to suspend his campaign? or should he have continued on?

Personally, it doesn't matter. I don't think he would of sustained his place. Every single allegation has no foundation and all of the accusers have shady backgrounds. Its sad to see this happen to Herman Cain.

I do but I also know that its the presidential race. None of the allegations have strong foundations. Dirty politics. I just love how the media ignores that one of the main accusers lives in David Axelrods building (well, not anymore. She was evicted) Ginger White 'schedule' of when she met with Cain conflicts with when he had cancer. Its all crap.

I guess. I knew Clinton was a scumbag, though. Edwards' dalliances I didn't suspect, but I wasn't particularly invested in him either.

 

I'm waiting for the candidate who has the gonads to come out and air his/her dirty laundry in advance so as to defuse any potential bombs. Americans could use a dose of honesty for a change from their pols, and may even reward said candidate for such.

What sides have changed? I don't honestly rememberr a whole lot about Clinton's first election when those allegations came out, but I'll assume that you mean that as a whole democrats had no problem with Clinton's affairs, but now are using it against Cain. Why would what democrats think worry Cain? He wouldn't win most of their votes, anyway - no republican could. The election is won with the moderates and the independents. As a moderate, he likely wouldn't get my vote. The only two republican candidates that could at the moment are Romney and surprisingly, Gingrich.

 

If I'm missing the big picture here, I am confident that someone here will explain it to me.

Its in the past and people have gotten over it. At this point its like comparing apples and oranges. It is indeed a show stopper. Newt has already had to deal with it and explained it. Cain has a new allegation come out every week so he spends his time explaining it and the media dwells on it. It turns people away.

He was done about 4 weeks ago. It is a shame, now back to the boring Rep. Party.
