Clyde, in the prediction thread you asked who will guard Mcgovney, I guess the answer was no one. The kid can play! Hard to shut him down. Sounds like a great game featuring some great local players.

Any comments on the officiating? I've heard some grumblings.

I thought the technical at the end of the game was a very, very quick whistle. The Camel player was hit after the shot. You should let the players decide the game.

For those of you not there, Camels down 3 with 20 seconds to go. Jared White has a good look at a 3 and gets bumped after the shot. Camels Assistant Coach yells, "He got hammered!" and is hit with a technical. Boone hits both free throws. Game over.

There was one really bad call in the first half where Campbell County should have been given the "and one" bucket, but only received the ball out of bounds due to bad judgement of "on the floor". For the rest of the game the Campbell crowd rode the refs hard. At the end, the Assistant Coach(es) were on their feet jumping up and down yelling "he got hammered" repeatedly with a ref only a few feet away.

It was an appropriate bench technical, albeit a missed call on the three point shooting foul. Russell was clearly annoyed with his staff, as he should have been.

A technical with 20 seconds left in the game? I wasn't there so can't comment on whether or not it was deserved; I just hate to see a game decided that way.

I agree. I hate to see coaches losing control and possibly costing their team a chance at a win.

Impressive outing for the Camels. Boone County is a solid ballteam.

37 for McGovney is a pretty good way to start off the season!

Good kid, good family. I'm happy for him.

Guys, the technical was just icing on the cake fom a ref crew that blew several game changing calls which went against Campbell. They failed to call an intentional foul when a Boone player grabbed McGovney with both hands on what would have been a layup. Late in the game McGovney was clearly shoved by another Boone player and a walk was called against Nate. A late game rebound by another Camel which would have been in position for a putback was whistled for an over the back...not even close. And the last 3 point attempt WAS a foul.

Important calls went Boone's way all game. I have no dog in the fight. I wanted to see a couple of the better players in the area. McGovney was a man among boys. In my opinion Campbell deserved to win. Boone has a fine team. They will win their share of games. But this game might as well had a Boone coach as an official.

I wasn't there so I can't comment on the refs. But I will say complaints about officials in game threads are like the boy who cried wolf. It happens so often that it is hard to give much credibility to any referree complaints. No offense meant to you ... that is just the way it is.

We Cov. Cath. fans never do that. Never complain about the coach either. :D McGovney is a great talent. I wish Campbell County were in the 9th. Their game(s) against Brossart this year should be great.

I dont recall the intentional foul play Crickets referenced. Was that the play where some felt it was an "and 1?"

Like I always say, if you think you can do better, quit complaining and grab a whistle!

When it comes to the refs in any game, any complaining from the coaches or fans seems to make things worse. Sometimes you just have to deal with it and try to out smart the other team and refs. Remember the Titans, when the QB threw the ball at the ref's crotch, just once I would love to see someone do the same thing in a basketball game.

My memory tells me that CC scored a 3-pointer when they took it out.
