What Tim Tebow Can't Do

Featured Replies

Loved the article! Go Tebow!

He can lead and inspire a team, and doesn't turn it over.

I agree; things have not been the best for him, but believe he's improving every week. After this season and maybe another one, I believe he's going to be dangerous if healthy.

Maybe the defense is playing better because they believe in Tebow and Tebow takes care of the ball. Amazing what a defense can do when the offense isn't putting them in poor field position.

Broncos averaged 27 minutes of possession with Orton under center and have averaged 33 minutes of possession with Tebow under center. Broncos averaged 2.4 turnovers a game with Orton under center and have averaged 0.8 with Tebow under center. Their defense allowed a median of 23 points during Orton's tenure this season and have allowed a median of 14 points with Tebow. I don't think those numbers are unrelated.

They've given up a little more than touchdown less a game with Tebow, but have had to contend with around two less turnovers a game and around half a quarter less time on the field.

As a coach I don't think this can be stressed enough. Tebow does a lot of things. It starts with his teammates belief in him. I don't doubt for 1 sec the Oline has played better because of him. The Def has played better because of him. His WR's block better because of him.

He brings so much to the game that's not easy to see by ave fans. First off he doesn't turn the ball over. That means his defense is on the filed less but it also means they aren't stressed with defending a short field.

He doesn't turn it over which means Den has longer drives wearing opposing Def down+ keeping his def fresh.

They have a physical mentality because they know going into the game they are going to pound the ball+play D/special teams.

Opposing defenses are in a bind. The NFL is a sling the ball league. Now all the sudden you not only have a team that can pound the ball but they have an extra guy to run you aren't used to accounting for. That is a huge problem for teams that are built for speed not size.

He brings an offense that might be the toughest in the league to prepare for. It's not an offense you see every week scheme wise.

He has the IT factor and every guy in the league knows it. If they game goes late in 4th quarter then he has a physcological advantage. Teams know what's coming in the back of their head.

He has the potential for the homerun as he gets better. With teams loading the box with a safety the ability to go 1on1 or hit the deep post open up. He's not there yet but I think it's coming!

All that said I think the Raiders win that Division. They have the best backup in the league+best KY high school player ever leading them IMO in Bush. McFadden gets healthy he is a homerun hitter w breakaway speed. Palmer causes problems being a legit QB. Maybe most important their front four can get after you allowing them to play coverage. I really think if they get matched up with the Pats in the playoffs then the RAiders will pull the upset. They can pound the ball, knock QB off his spot+play coverage. That's bad news for NE!

Maybe or maybe not. I hate how people like to say that Tebow is just a winner, when we have no clue if he will be a winner for his career in the NFL. He basically needs EVERYTHING to go right for them to have a chance to win at the end of the game.

The thing I really want to see is how much they believe in Tebow and what he has to say if they start losing. I been thinking about this and I will go ahead and make a prediction on Tebow for the rest of the season. I think they will win no more than one game the rest of the season. So they will either go 1 and 4 or even 0 and 5 the rest of the year. I called the Bengals doing well this year, and Palmer doing better the more time he got with his team. So lets see if I can get this right too! :D

There you go with your facts again.
