November 30, 201114 yr For obvious reasons I think that having Meyer as HC, the Bucks should be able to reach Florida even better than they were before. But, I think keeping Fickell around willl also be extremely beneficial. He's already got a lot of the midwest connections, which should help them keep a lot of the Ohio talent there in-state. Plus, I think Pennsylvania is going to be open hunting after what's taken place at Penn State.

He's certainly got some connections and I expect him to land some. I'm just interested to see how big of a dent he can make. It's one thing to recruit the state as the head coach of Florida. It's quite another to come from Columbus. I think the upside for him is that none of the three dominant schools in the state are on top of their game at the moment. That has to present a big opportunity for him.

He's left some ill will down here that he'll have to overcome, too.
November 30, 201114 yr Ohio State is not completely void of Florida recruits to begin with. Brewster, Berry, Sabino, Hyde, Howard are all from Florida and were starters this year. If Meyer helps land one or two Florida recruits that might not otherwise have gone to Columbus that’s great, but getting recruits from Florida isn’t new ground for the Buckeyes.
