After the Kansas game I predicted that this Kentucky team would break the team record for blocked shots. Calipari's first UK team holds the school record with 273. The current team already has 44 after today's game. The record was set in 38 games so the 2009-2010 team averaged 7.1 blocks per game, the current team is averaging 11 blocks after 4 games. I know that it is early but will this team set the school record for blocks? The NCAA record for blocks is 315 set by the 2004 UConn team--could that be in danger as well? That team averaged 8.1 blocks per game.

I think they have a pretty good chance. I would say Davis will break UK's individual record.

They are athletic, quick, and tall. They will break the record.

10 More blocks tonight by UK. That puts them at 54 after 5 games.

Nine blocks tonight by Kentucky vs Portland. That makes it 63 after 6 games.

18 blocks agains St. John's tonight. The total is now 81 after 7 games.

The record is going to get smoked if they keep this up. They are on pace to put it out of reach.

What is the all time record?

It's in my first post in the thread. The school record is 273, set by the 2009-10 team and the NCAA record is 315, set by the 2003-04 Connecticut team.

6 More blocks against UNC has the Wildcats at 87 blocks after 8 games.

UK recorded 13 blocks in the Indiana and Chattanooga games. That has them at an even 100 after 10 games--still on pace to break the records.

122 after 13 games. 9.38 a game.

Saint Jospeh's is only 8 behind.

149 blocks after 16 games. Down to a measly 9.3 per game.

St Joe's is at 136 / 8.5 per game.

Side note: Anthony Davis' 74 blocks puts him tied for 51st place. In TEAM totals.

He's two behind Tennessee and UCLA (76), 3 ahead of Duke (71), and 5 ahead of Georgetown, Alabama, and Murray State (69).

If they stay at their current pace, they break the school record in SEC play before even starting the tournaments.
