Would I rather have Danville's Respect or beat them....hmmmmn...I couldn't care less about what they (Ad's Fans, Coaches or Players) think. I'll take putting a butt whippin' on them everytime over having their respect.

Then you guys should enjoy your win and quit worrying about what Coach Harp and the rest of the Danville fans think. The begining of this thread from Somerst posters is focused on what Danville thinks. These wins and losses usually go in cycles. Somerset has a pretty good run going, enjoy it, you guys go get a state title and we will go home and live in the past with our 10 titles and 2 runner ups, and think about how to get better for next year.:clap:

I noticed that as well. The Danville players just do not have good body language when something goes wrong. As soon as Storm Wilson ran the kickoff back their shoulders started to drop. When Somerset took the lead they seemed to do a lot of griping at each other and they seemed to quit. I don't recall ever seeing any of the great Danville teams act like that.

 

I thought the two biggest plays of the game(other than the kickoff return) happened when Danville tried to get fancy. The fake punt on 4th and short near midfield and the double reverse that ended up being fumbled and returned for a touchdown were huge. In both instances the Somerset coaching staff were telling the players to watch out for the fake and the reverse. Is Danville getting too predictable?

It seems to me the Danville parents are in the kids ear telling them that the coaching staff is to blame, and it shows in how the kids play with little emotion and confidence when something goes wrong.

Until Somerset wins a few more State Championships it will always be an upset for Somerset to beat Danville, at least in the Danville faithfuls eyes.

 

After this year's seniors went 4-0 and outscored the Admirals 143-49 over their careers I'm sure they don't think it is any big accomplishment to defeat the Ads--in the Danville faithfuls eyes is the only place a Somerset win is considered an upset anymore.

Absolutely. There is a disconnect between the coaches, players, parents and supporters. They are all so far from being on the same page that things will get worse before they get better. It seems as if no one is buying what Sam is selling nowadays and it isn't just parents that are in the players ears. It's pretty much any person with Danville ties in the players ears. Sam deserves to go out on his own terms. He has earned that but things will get worse maybe a lot worse for Danville before they get better as long as Sam is there. JMO based on what I see and hear.

 

 

You can go to a Danville home game and you'll realize that the once proud program is no longer a proud program. Lots of empty seats. It just ain't the same at Danville.

No disrespect but Danville is still a great program. We live in a get rid of everyone society. They went to the semi's last year and everyone is hollering get rid of Sam, seriously? Show some loyalty stick with your coach and help create an atmosphere that will help the program be state champs again.
