Further proof that if anyone could be said to have "lost," it would be the players. It's being reported that at least seven teams will have stretches in this year's shortened schedule where they will play 5 games in 6 days. For each of those teams, they'll do it TWICE this year.

 

That is going to be some awful, awful basketball.

 

If you want dollars you have to make dollars, and since late November they have been losing dollars. They have already missed out on a lot of what they could have already made in a normal year. Only way your going to make any of that back and try to get back on track is by playing games and putting people in the seats and getting people interested in the NBA again (merchandise sales, tv/sponsor contracts, etc.) Players may suffer and fans may suffer because of poor play on the court but these guys are crying about money if you want money you have to go out and make it, this means going out and playing ball games that they have already missed. There's a lot of people who work five days a week and who are tired but still show up for work the next day. There's also a lot of people out there who work five days a week and still play hours of pick up basketball two or three of those days, they still go to work. Your getting paid to go play basketball, your supposed to be a professional athlete who is in professional condition, tough out the soreness and play. I mean you get paid (sickening high salaries) to play basketball for a living, not much can make that a bad career or way of living although there's some players out there who try to make it seem bad. Go underground and mine coal sitting on your knees for 10 hours, crunch numbers in front of a computer all day, or hang sheet rock five-six days a week and be thrilled to clear $50,000 yr. then go back and try to cry and make getting 1.5 mil to play professional basketball seem like its that tough of a living. Believe it or not there are athletes who do that.

Unfortunately for the Hornets the market isn't that good but somebody like the Clippers could put together a pretty nice package of young talent and picks I would imagine. May be a couple of other teams step up to the plate as well. Celtics may try to revisit and see what they can do and hope Paul signs there after the season is over with.

Everything comes out different in text then how a person would hear it just in conversation. Majority of the time I post and type as if talking, that's why most of my posts are long. Didn't mean to come off as a rant just pretty much saying.

I feel for the fans of the Hornets. The NBA is running the franchise and they are going to lose one of their two biggest assets in Paul one way or another. I think Howard will land in LA but I don't see how they can get Paul

The NBA will want Paul in NYC IMO. The Lakers will probaby get Howard and a future star to be named later.
