So how do you feel about Jay Gruden now? lol I know you decided to make some pretty quick and bad judgements on him, just based on the fact that Simpson was able to learn his playbook. Which made you think it was easy, and rather having Brat. Sorry had to say it! :D

Gruden has done an amazing job with Dalton. I think we need to get the most out of Gruden while we can, I doubt we will have him longer than 2 or 3 years. Just imagine what he and Dalton can do once they are able to completely install every little bit of the offense in the off season and getting more time to work on it. I love it!!!

Everything has worked out so far. The jury is still out on him I would think. I'm still not sold that most of this success isn't because they have faced an awful schedule. I'd love to be wrong about Gruden. The next 5 games will tell us a lot. Simpson is still an idiot. He had a terrible game yesterday and a lot of his mistakes weren't very smart. It's also not very smart to have 6 lbs of weed shipped to your home from California via FedEx.

Andy getting time to pass, Andre had another holding call protecting him, sometimes you need to hold. But he is playing well, both Andy/Andre.

I think Dalton can be a special player, but he doesn't remind me of Brett Favre.

Bengals fans should be excited about the future regardless of how they finish this season. They've already shown some real potential and you have to believe the offense will get much better as Dalton and Green and company get more experience and build more chemistry together. Surely a full off-season will make a big difference.

But, if recent rookie QB's have shown us anything, it is that the transition from game managing, conservative QB to "put the game in my hands" QB isn't a sure thing. Sanchez and Flacco both have enjoyed success from the word go, but both are also still struggling to fully emerge into a guy that you feel comfortable putting the game on their shoulders.

One thing I believe benefits Dalton is that the Bengals paired him up with a big time rookie WR, so he should have a stud on the outside to develop with. Neither Flacco, nor Sanchez have had that. The teams did go out and bring guys in later, but nobody with Green's potential, IMO.

I agree, Dalton is definitely not like Favre. However, dare I say Joe Montana?

Anyone else getting excited about AJ Green? He looks to me to be an absolute stud for years to come.

Totally agree.

Hopefully they sign some of their D-Line to extensions soon.

I see a lot of similarities between AJ and TO in terms of talent. Green has much better hands, and definitely doesn't have the attitude issues.

That would be a huge plus to have a #1 wide reciever, a legit #1, not be a headache as well.

I was going to say that he's more like a Tom Brady type QB. So, Joe Montana is fair.

That's not to say he's going to be as good as either, but that's the type of QB I see.

Pocket passer, not athletic, but good presence, awareness and movement in the pocket

Not the strongest arm, but adequate

The real strenghts are accuracy, decision-making, composure, competitive toughness

That is similar to how I'd describe Montana and Brady.

Losing Kenny Britt is killing the Titans. Teams are going to continue to dominate the line as long as the Titans' best reciever is last year's back up TE.

Not disagreeing, but the touchdown catch the Titans reciever made yesterday was fantastic.

Come man, at least you can admit he is better than having Brat around this year. With Brat we still would be seeing seven step drops, lots of sacks because of that, and no adjustments made once teams figured out what they were doing.

As for Simpson I never said he was smart. I was just saying how you used him learning the playbook as the reason why you would rather have Brat, since you thought it was to easy since he learned it. Even though I tried to explain to you, that it was completely differen't situations. When Simpson came in, he had to learn how to read defenses. He also had to learn a whole offense that has had all it's plays already in for the last 7 years before he even got there. It wasn't like he got to start slow, the whole playbook was already in and had players who had been there for years. So obviously he was going to struggle. This year the playbook was not already in, and was having to be taught to everyone. That was just a very bad reasoning you had back then for saying Gruden probably won't do well, and how you rather have Brat still.

I happened to be in Nashville for this one and got a chance to attend LP Field. Nice stadium, definitely, but the production value of their jumbo-trons and and crowd pump-up "gimmicks" were really pretty poor IMO. Aside from that, a great place to watch a game, if you ask me.

One of the most promising things I saw was their second half attitude. Could have been very easy for Dalton, Green, and the likes to cave in down 10 going into half time, their opponent having momentum, and it being in their house. They, instead, came out and played an awesome second half. Young teams don't ordinarily do things like that, especially against contenders in their own house, like the Titans. Great performance, and this Sunday will be VERY telling.

You're giving Gruden a ton of credit for beating up on some bad teams. He has been an improvement, but he hasn't faced Baltimore or Pitt yet and the division goes through them like always. Brat was the O-Coordinator for two division winning teams here and his offense was completely different in those two years. They would have made another playoff appearance if not for some bad special teams as you like to point out so much when defending CP. John Thornton was talking on twitter yesterday about Atlanta using a lot of Brat's plays and them being successful on some deep throws and quick slants. My guess is he knows the offense well enough to comment on it and we don't.

There has been more former Bengal players who have put down Brat and his offense than support him. Are you seriously going to say since he has a few of his plays used with Atlanta it shows that he would have still been good here? I mean it is very well said around here everywhere from players who played under him that the offense just got stale. They never made adjustments. Yes in 2009 they ran the ball more, but it was still the same plays. They never adjusted. I forget which player said it yesterday, but someone even said in years past other teams made adjustments to us, now at half we are making adjustments to them. Yes his playbook and all that is probably very good. However in the NFL if you keep doing the same thing and same pass combinations, without making many adjustments then teams catch on. Which is what happened with Brat. Then it also has been mentioned that even while having a line that struggled with pass blocking, he always usually had Palmer do 7 step drops. He also didn't use as much play action to help slow down the rush. It was just an offense that got completely stale and if he was still here then they probably are not doing as well.

Yes we could lose, and maybe not score much at all against Pittburgh. It wouldn't be a surprise because Pitt's defense makes most QB's look bad, and it will be the first time Dalton has seen them. However having Gruden this year instead of Brat was a huge addition. Not to mention it seems like he has gotten Marvin to be more aggressive this year. I forget which game it was, but Marvin even after the game talked about how Gruden talked him into going for a huge 4th down which they then ended up scoring on the drive. I know Bratkowski knows more about football than any of us know. However he ended up being bad for this team, and it was time for a change. He had ten years here, which is longer than most OC's get with a team.
