Montgomery County is working on one vs Cooper in 5A . 4 vs 1.

I'd consider Lloyd over Walton Verona one, especially when WV beat them by 28 earlier in the year.

Previously 6-4 #4 seed Powell smoked a previously 8-2 #1 Seed Lewis County in 3A...not much of an upset though.

 

Previously 4-6 #3 seed Lawrence County beats previously 8-2 #2 seed Morgan County in 3A....once again most expected this.

Probably the best true "upset":

 

Previously 9-1 #2 seed Russell County losing to previously 4-6 #3 seed Mercer County.

#3 Desales over #2 Green County, only a mild, mild upset.

Mercer County defeated Russell County 19-14. This has to be the upset of the night.

 

I don't want to dig on the Laker fans that are on this board but in the BGP 4A rankings this season the Lakers fans kept asking for respect and to be ranked. By the end of the year they said forget it, don't worry about us and don't jump on our bandwagon now. All I can say is that this loss proved everyone right. For a team that claimed to be the best team in their district and deserving to be a top 10 team in 4A there is no excuse to lose to this Mercer County team. None.

 

Good luck next year. Despite this loss it looks like Russell County is laying the foundation for a good program moving forward. Learn from this loss and keep building.
