Anyone remember when about 1/3 of the south end zone was concrete track? That was a little dicey.
Yes, people forget that there used to be a full-sized track around the field. Imagine that visitor's sideline back then! And there was no press box either. All the coaches and radio announcers had to hang out on the roof of the high school.

Oh, and the scoreboard was on the same sideline as the school, so they (asst. coaches/radio guys) couldn't even see the scoreboard, and had to have someone yell up the time remaining to them.

Which game did they run? I like True as a blocking back which IMO is just as important as the kid toting the pigskin. I could see Jake beefing up a little more and being an excellent fullback at a small college.

Frog Seidle is exceptionally fast and was very effective.

What nobody has mentioned though was the tenacious YAC running by Tight End Ian Mcgurn. That kid was shaking off tacklers like lint balls on a shirt. He was possessed last night.

He runs very hard and has really good vision w/ the ball. He's a weapon.

I may be wrong, but from the end zone, that was a good hit. The Ryle runner was still in bounds with TD in his eyes and took a hard shot from the HHS defender. Seemed to me that the aftermath had something to do with the flag being thrown. Shame that spectators got hurt, but we're not in a position to annex a pasture and call it our stadium like a lot of schools are.

I was almost right on the line in the end zone. He was out when he got hit. Not sure that the Highlands player could have stopped himself, but he had established himself out of bounds when he got hit. It was a good call, but a huge hit that made it look worse.

You're right...but it was still a penalty and it is extremely dangerous on that sideline.

Yeah, better to err on the side of caution re: the hit along the sideline being called a penalty.

As far as the sideline is concerned, not much that can be done that I know of. There's just not much room there.

Those were the good old days. Sliding around in the corners of the endzone..

Leave DCM alone!
