It's hard to believe they can't tell whether it's broken or not. You can get back quicker I think with surgery. He's a very nice player I certainly hate to hear this.

 

Someone said it isn't a break but more of a hairline fracture. At first they thought it was just bruised. I have heard everything from he might play Friday to he is out for the season. This is all second and third hand information so who knows.

You always hate to hear of an injury, especially if it is a season ending one. If it is definitely broken, I am sure he will be out the rest of this season. I have seen Beechwood play, but I wonder how much this injury will effect the outcome of their playoff game with Mayfield (that is if they get that far, which IMO they will.)

If Davis is done, it should not derail Bw getting to Mayfield but once here, I feel that it will be a uphill battle for Bw if they do not figure out a way pass. The strength of Mayfield's team is the defense this year. Obviously box score summaries indicate that Bw is very heavy run first so this may not be all that game changing but without a credible pass threat I think running on us will be difficult, espically given the spped we have on d this year.

There is likely no one on Mayfield's team as fast as Nussbaum and Vocke. Those two will be in the top 5 in the state this year in the 100M dash. Beechwood has 3 or 4 more that are just a notch behind those two in pure speed. Mayfield will not beat Beechwood athletically.

You maybe right, being so far away it's hard to judge watching film. We are quick and I know Bw is as well.

I remember 2 yrs ago when BW came to town I asked a fan before the game what he thought and he said BW was faster and should win. I know you're not say who will win but you may have 2 fast guys while we got 7 or 8. I hope your QB comes back, no excuses either way.

Well by now I'm sure the Davis kid has been to the Doc and has learned the degree of his injury and has likely informed the team so we should all know his condition before long

I guess we will find out when they take the field against New Cath this Friday, will coach Rash try and preserve bodies in a game that typically is very physical, or will he go for the win....knowing coach Rash, he goes for the win and rides that momentum forward. Either way I hope the Davis kid is ok, hate to see a senior go out that way.

Mayfield really doesn't have any one player with breakaway outstanding speed like Xavier a couple of years ago, but, they have great team speed, especially on the defensive side and this may be the most fundamentally sound team of the last 3 Cardinal squads. Those are 2 nice qualities to have.
