Sorry RT - not so. All players are required to wear knee, thigh, hip and butt pads. No exceptions.

Any word on WR Andrew Wall who appeared to injure his ankle or lower leg in the first half? He is an excellent blocker and a very good receiver. Speaking of which, how about the knockdown block Quick put on a Male DB about 20 yards downfield?

They don't like wearing them because they think they slow them down and make them look uncool so they "forget" them. Tonight they got caught and I would bet that Monday they will be reminded not to forget again.

Wow. So that was what that penalty was for. I couldn't figure it out. I'm sure that they'll learn the consequences of that penalty very thoroughly this week. A completely avoidable penalty.

I can almost promise you they'll be reminded to be properly equipped. In 2001 some guys "forgot" to wear hip pads when we played Shelby County...after conditioning the following Monday everyone remembered their pads for the rest of the season.

I'm really not trying to rub salt in an open wound but why in the world would Male line up to kick a field goal on the final play of the game down 49-0. Is it really so important to avoid being shut out that you put 3 meaningless points up? They had the ball at the 3 yard line (after starting first and goal at the 1). If they punch it in the end zone for a touch then so be it. Just seemed strange to me to line up for a kick in that situation.

They don't put them in, on purpose....we did it all the time.

No offense intended RP but there's no excuse for stupid. Not only is it a violation of the rules and dangerous, had a second unsportsmanlike flag been dropped on Trinity because of it Beatty would have been ejected AND suspended for the next 2 games. What has been a very special season could have been badly tarnished because a few players felt they knew better then the rules.
