I knew that Simon Kenton was definitely going through a rebuilding phase before the season started. I figured things were going to be much more of a challenge and this season is becoming evident. I hear a lot of talk about how Marksberry is horrible. The losses of talented and experienced players has been a big issue over the last two seasons. Players like Simpson, Lawrence, Winkler, and more, probably including experienced linemen and other defensive players are not replaced easily. It will take time to get the team back to the level that those boys brought to the team.

Speaking of former players, Chad Lawrence was at the game and all I can say is he has really packed some solid weight to his frame. He looks like a FB.

 

As far as the switch at QB, I don't think it would matter if Kuntz was playing last night. He was sacked seven times against CC and towards the end looked totally gun shy to me. Fact of the matter is they don't have the offensive talent they've had the past few seasons and the offensive scheme isn't working at all. I think it all starts up front, they pass the looks test but time and time again there is just not much room to get any type of ground game going.

That's the answer, would not be a cure all but would help out alot more. O-line struggles to pass block, fairly easy too see. Strange to see a coach stick to his guns with such different personal. Pride sucks I guess.

Good observation about up front, big but very slow and unskilled. Went to the JV game this morning, they let Kuntz start and play the first half. Nice numbers, 200 yards, 3 TD's and only 3 incomplete passes. The JV O-Line is not overly big but very spirted.

Against CC most of the sacks where caused from the field conditions it was a muddy mess. Something I noticed at the SK/Boone game SK doesn't have anything to clean cleats I seen a Boone coach carrying two cleat cleaners to their sideline. SK needs to be more prepared for grass fields.

Are you serious?????? I am going to tell you something, you are full of excuses. I have talked to many SK fans off of here and they would just wish you would be quiet because what you say is so outlandish it never makes sense. Let me tell you a couple of things, the field condition had nothing to do with the sacks CC had. They played well enough to FIGHT through the line and they sacked a QB whose O-Line could not protect for, 2: CC did not have cleat cleaners either, even if CC lost that game you would not see one person on here saying they need to be prepared for the muddy mess or for a grass field. It is what it is.

When he was COY of the year you say it is the players when he is losing you say it is him. You can't have it both ways. It is either the players or the coaches. Everyone on here can accept SK is in a rebuilding you BUT YOU. I think you need to re-evaluate really which way it is.

Wow! Full of excuses? Not sure what game you seen but when SK played CC I watched the QB slip a bunch of times the field was a mess. The O-line is not blocking either. The only reason Marksberry got COY was because of the players! SK still has a bunch of good players but when u have coaches that can't coach it is what it is! Against Boone SK was losing in the 3rd quarter and 4th quarter what was SK doing? Running the ball out of the I formation Swanson probably threw 6 passes all night. If your coach don't call some passing plays how are you suppose to catch up! My evaluation is SK has over 70 players they have plenty of good players if only they had one good head coach and somebody that could teach the o-line how to block!

Benching your starting QB and putting your best WR at QB and only getting 90 yards total offense is bad coaching! Now SK's best WR is hurt. Now the starting QB might not have his best WR to throw to smart move by the coaching staff. If SK had a Ryle, Beechwood or another top teams coaching staff SK would have won every game this year!

Well Marksberry's play calling doesn't make sense either! Only changes SK needs to make is get some better coaches! I am pretty sure I am entitled to my opinion just like you are. So I guess you agree with SK benching their QB? The JV game Kuntz looked pretty good he started at QB against Boone Friday night SK would have won and Swanson would had caught a touchdown or two if Marksberry wouldn't call running plays on second and ten or third and long!

Once again more rubbish about me and not whats going on with SK football! All I can say is if Marksberry is still coaching when my son goes there my son will go to another school. People can either like me or hate I will post what I want to post as long as I don't break the rules on here!
