Jumpers pretty much dominated both sides of the ball.

No turnovers tonight.

Play of the game belongs to SHS Punter Trevor Hurd. Late in 2nd quarter leading 13-0 SHS was punting from around their own 25. High snap forced punter to chase ball back towards goal line with Danville players in hot pursuit. Somerset was looking at either a safety, fumble recovery for a TD or at best pick up the ball and get tackled inside the 5yd line turning the ball over......but Mr. Hurd scooped up the ball and got off a punt to the 27 yard line as he was being dragged down. Instead of scoring or having the ball inside of the 5 with under 2 minutes in the half Danville took over on the 27 and was held out of the endzone.

Score could have easily been 13-7 at the half instead of 13-0.

Congrats Trevor on my pick for "play of the game".

Congratulations to Somerset on a big district win.

I wasn't able to attend the game but I did listen to some of it on the radio.

Can someone tell me that was at the game if Danville set up in the wishbone much?

Did they the run the jet sweep any?

Don't recall many 'bone plays....ran out of Jet Sweep formation majority of the time. Just had trouble running inside and outside...best play came from shovel pass that set up Ads TD.

That does not surprise me at all...This coaching staff does not get it...I have been watching Danville football for a while now,and you can ask anyone that follows the Ads they will tell you that the the jet does not work...They might not get positive yards out of the bone everytime but most of the time it is effective...Thanks JD...

Yep, the radio guys were saying the same thing. As were some Danville fans/parents on facebook during the game also.

That was actually Alex Lange on the punt. Trevor handled the placekicking duties and had a 36 yard field goal along with a couple of touchbacks on kickoffs but Lange did the punting. It was a huge play to keep the Admirals out of the end zone before halftime.

Somerset's defensive front dominated Danville's offensive line tonight. It didn't seem to matter if they ran out of the bone, the jet or threw the ball. Somerset had multiple people to the ball and put pressure on the quarterback all night.

Great game by Somerset tonight on both sides of the ball. The offense didn't just light up the scoreboard but they controlled the clock and were able to line up and run the ball down the Admirals throats. On defense the Briar Jumper front line did a great job of getting a push against the Danville offensive front and gave the Admiral ball carriers very little room to run. The linebackers and secondary did an excellent job of keeping contain against Danville's speed. Very nice job all-around especially on the line of scrimmage where Somerset just pushed Danville around. Still some mistakes to clean up, too many penalties and a bad snap on a punt but this was a big win. The pre-district schedule seems to have the Briar Jumpers ready for the games that count. Big game with Lexington Christian next week for first place in the district.

Yea agree with you and I'm not saying that if the Ads would have run the the bone more they would have won the game. But I think they should run plays that work some of the time other than plays that never work...:thumb:

My bad I thought the announcer said it was Trevor, since Alex was dealing with quad issue I had heard he still wasn't going to kick...either way it was a big play.

Nice win for the Jumpers, congratulations.

Good to see you rebound after 3 really tough weeks. Hope you pick up steam from here and hit your stride in the playoffs.
