Agree or Disagree?

Can't see Prestonsburg being that high after a bad loss to Hazard. I think Murray should be in and PBurg out of the top 10. I also think Bardstown and Cov Holy Cross should be right behind Somerset at 6 and 7...

I agree Pburg is probably a bit too high, but still in the top 10. Bardstown and HC should be higher

I have a sneaky suspicion that Covington Holy Cross should be much higher on the list. This is about where they were last year and I thought they were clearly the second best 2A team in the state.

I agree with the upper half for the most part. One team not in there that I believe should be is Owen County. I know that their schedule has not been the strongest, but I think that they are good enough to be somewhere between 8 and 10.

The one thing i've noticed about 2a, there a alot of teams either ranked towards the bottom of the rankings or just outside the rankings like Wash Co, Murray, CAL, Owen Co, etc that are very capable of knocking off the higher ranked teams on any given night. I like the parity of 2a this year.

Who has Murray beaten to earn a spot in the top 10? And Holy Cross has that bad loss to Beechwood on their resume.

Let us know how you do against Beechwood. The thing holding HC back is the same as last year. Same div as NCC. We will win our first 2 in the play offs and then go against NCC in the third round. Chances are we will lose and then, again, NCC will roll over the rest of the comp in 2A.

If were to win the rest of the state will give HC some respect. Have to win first.

I think Holy Cross is a top-10 team, but if you want to argue more than that, you have to explain a 43-point loss to Beechwood.

A 43 point loss is inexcusable, but Beechwood is a top 10 team in the state in any division imo. It was 14-12 at the half. If you make some big mistakes against a good team and things start going downhill, its hard to stop. I think the game would be much closer if both teams were to play again, but Beechwood is a better team. I think their is alot of parity in the 2A class outside of NCC. They are clearly the best team in 2A, but HC will get their chance to show that they have improved since the Beechwood loss.

The loss was a loss. Bad playing but to explain it any diff would be excusses. HC has its road ahead of them in the play offs. We will end up against NCC before your neck of the woods has to, that allows you to get farther in the play offs. It is what it is.

I really don't think NCC is way and above a good number of 2a teams this year. They are the favorite to win it, but, not a heavy favorite as you suggest. Last year, they were playing there best ball in playoff time, which is what you want to do, but, prior to the playoffs they looked very beatable..Also, they lost a good portion of heavy producers off that team.. I think OB Cath, Glasgow, Somerset and Danville have a really good shot to win it all this year.. And, before you say look at last years game with OBC, you could say the same thing about the Mayfield/Beechwood game, as well, but, alot of folks seem to think Beechwood is the team to beat this year in 1a.. No difference with OB Cath.

Go Watch NewCath and you will change your mind. They are very good. JD

John, who do you pick to win the Beechwood / New Cath game?
