Hawkins is good, but Derek Willis and Darryl Hicks are definitely better prospects.

Hawkins is only a junior? Wow. What is the makeup of Madison Central? Senior loaded, good mixture of youth and age? I know Scott County has Manning and Ivey among others. They looked really good this summer. Wha does Madison Central bring to the table besides Hawkins?

I have heard of Mike Smith and know who he is but have never seen him play. I know he played for Sayre last year and is a point guard and that he had a pretty good summer this year also. I wish I had seen him play. It sounds like he is a heck of a player.

Can any of you guys close to the 11th redo this list of players? I am not as familiar with the 11th as most of you so I am not going to make another inaccurate list but I'd like to see how some of you rate the players so I can have a better view of how the players fall.

There seem to be strong opinions on the 11th region players and teams by some who haven't seen many of them on a consistent basis. Some of the players have been hyped since 8th grade, largely based on AAU, and that is where some of these opinions seem to come from. Some players have had much more exposure as underclassmen, because they didn't have many outstanding upperclassmen playing in front of them or being the predominant options on offense. I won't rank the players, because I am biased. I would say you could add about 5 more players to make a top 15 and many of the spots could be interchanged. It looks like only one player from a team was selected for this list (4 were underclassmen). Preseason lists are meaningless anyway and only serve to create conversations/arguments like this. If you want to see some ridiculous rankings, look at Rick Bolus's list. The end of the year ratings are what count and even they can be suspect at times(some of the all-state teams varied quite a bit from each other last year). I say let the season begin, and see what happens. I remember last year when everyone was saying Christian County was overrated.

I don't remember anyone saying that about Christian County. I got to see them against my Rebels and they looked anything but overrated.

We beat them twice, I knew how good they were.

That top 10 player list is loaded, most, if not all will go D1. I wonder if Jay Johnson getting hurt this summer changed his ranking????? I remember this summer most rankings had him the top player in the state.

Madison Central and Henry Clay are the most talented teams but Lexington Catholic always seems to find a way. Scott County has 2 studs but really are down for them I am surprised they are #1 in CATS pause book. However Franklin will be better, Lexington Christian, and lets not forget Tates Creek who is well coached.

How could Beckham reclassify and be eligible? I am not familiar with this term and does anyone know for sure if he is back at Bryan Station or not?

Not the Quan Palmer who played at Holmes last year and plays AAU with Hatton?

Ryan Timmons gets not even a mention. You guys have got to be kidding me. I know he is football first, but his speed is unreal. Although he is not a great outside shooter, his speed, defense, and ability to get to the rim are pretty good.
