This is easily avoidable. Don't suck an entire month.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no issue with it at all.

If the Red Sox do their job this is a non-issue, and they're resting players too.

I was more just talking about VOR's contention that teams that have nothing to play for (ie the Yankees tonight) still putting their best lineups out there. It's just not true.

I don't have any complaint with how the Yankees are handling things down the stretch. On Friday, with bad weather looming Brian Cashman came to Francona and Epstein and asked them how they wanted to handle starting the game. He said that he knew that the Red Sox had much more to play for than the Yankees and that Jon Lester was slated to start Friday night. He let the Sox make the call on whether to try and start the game and potentially have it washed out after a couple of innings thus burning one of Lester's starts or playing a double header on Sunday. If the Yankees had any intentions of sabotaging the Red Sox they would not have done that.

I'm not saying they're sabotaging anything. I'm just saying they aren't playing their best players. If the Red Sox were in their shoes, I would want them to do exactly what the Yankees are doing.

I, like you, have no complaint about how the Yankee are handling things either.

Yankees lineup tonight is solid. Phillies are playing their playoff starting lineup in their game.

Yep, got the run back. Hudson had a lot of pitches in that first inning.

Meanwhile, an E-4 with 2 outs gives the Yankees a 1-0 lead.

Tampa Bay not looking too good right now.

Bourn caught stealing third on a double steal. A little toooo aggressive there.

Uggla goes yard and puts the Braves up 3-1. The failed steal by Bourn costs them a run, but Uggla comes through big.

Braves got out of a jam with runners on the corners and 1 out. Hudson gets a K and then a 4-3 groundout.

Meanwhile the Astros screwed up two straight grounders to between short and third then Pujols smashed a single to the wall to drive one in. Runners on the corners, no outs, Cards up 1-0.

A Berkman single to right gives the Cards another run, and runners still on the corners. No outs, 2-0 Cards.

Freeze with a double to deep left center, and now it is 3-0. Still no outs.

Looks like a playoff to me.
