September 28, 201115 yr Author Went to the Beer Sellar tonight (Thanks to Q) and what a deal it is. For $10 you get three Cigars. I smoked a Humo Jaguar which was awesome. Also in that package: Art Deco and a Casa Miranda Chapter One. Free wings to boot which I didn't partake. A very nice evening.
September 28, 201115 yr A lot of times I have one right out of the box. I would go with the Macanudo. They will all still be good. Just not at their peak. The temp changes of shipping can affect them a bit. But it's not super hot out so I'd guess they are just fine. Got you supplies to get everything ready? Had this tonight, it was pretty good.

September 28, 201115 yr Had this tonight, it was pretty good. It's a good mild - medium, and that's usually the best right out of the bag.

September 29, 201115 yr Author So what time did it end up starting? 5-8pm. Next week they have a dinner and it's $85 but the next Tuesday it's another "open bag" night and I plan on attending.
September 29, 201115 yr Author My cigars came in the mail so I headed out to get a humidor. I have a question, it didn't come with a hygrometer so tonight I followed directions and moistened the wood, and the humidifier. When should I place my sticks in since I won't know if it's in the 70% range?

When should I place my sticks in since I won't know if it's in the 70% range? You really should get a hygrometer. But the recommended method is to take a new unscented sponge. Wet it with distilled water. Wipe the entire inside with the sponge. Sit the sponge on a piece of saran and close the humidor. Wait 2 days. If sponge is still moist. Fill your humidifier with distilled water or glycol and put your cigars in. You should be good.
September 29, 201115 yr Thank you, sir! I'll be checking into these! Here's a mild and mellow sampler. http://www.cigarsinternational.com/prodDisp.asp?item=SP-CIDD181&cat=215 5 - Macanudo Cafe 5 - Gurkha Beauty 5 - Man O War Virtue 5 - 5 Vegas Gold
September 30, 201115 yr Author CI also sent a nice booklet filled with deals, I can't wait to purchase some more. Tonight I had an Art Deco that I got at the Beer Sellar. Not nearly as good as that Humo Jaguar.

September 30, 201115 yr When I put my sticks in the humidor should I keep the wrapper on? That is actually a topic of much debate. Some folks say if you don't unwrap them the moisture can't get to them, but most cigar stores have a large of wrapped cigars. The most compelling argument for leaving them wrapped is that if you like to buy a wide variety of cigars they will all eventually taste the same if they are unwrapped. I'm an unwrapper, but I have 5 humidors. Mild, mild-med, med-full, and 2 fulls.
September 30, 201115 yr Side note Neer. Do not put them in unwrapped until you are sure you humidor is ready to go.
