Is this Humidor even worth having? How long would it keep a cigar fresh?

Ultimate Humidor Combo #451 - Cigars International

It depends. Like most cheaper humidors, quality will likely vary. How tightly they seal is mostly hit and miss. It will likely keep cigars just fine for the short term if properly seasoned. It is something you will likely have to regularly check and work a little to maintain. For the average smoker thougwh, who isn’t storing large quantities of cigars for years at a time, this humidor would probably be ok.

For clarification, what does an aficionado consider a large quantity?

Yes it's a nice little humidor. If you're rotating though your product every six months or so.

It's not on special right now, but if you wait it out, you can get that combo for $29.99. The next time I see it I will post it.

Also with these small humidors, cigar glycol will make your life much easier.

I'm thinking in the couple hundred plus range. You'd probably have 1 or two go to cigars you'd by in larger quantities, along with some nicer, more expensive sticks, and other smaller quantities of brands you're interested in trying. In which case, rather than adding a cheap humidor every time your collection increases, it would be smarter to buy a larger, nicer solution rather than having a handful of cheap humidors that do an ok job, but would be a pain in the rear to maintain. At that point, a "wineador" (basically a small wine refrigerator modified to be used to hold cigars) solution would make sense.
