September 4, 201115 yr Boise looked very impressive tonight, especially the defense. Moore impressed me greatly too, possibly made an early heisman statement.
September 4, 201115 yr Author I had picked Boise to win this one but was pulling for UGA bc of the SEC. Boise qb K.Moore went 28/34- 271yds. - 3td's in this one imo proving that he along with Stanford qb A. Luck are the best in the country. Boise won this one with their defense, especially on the line, the Boise line/run defense dominated the game. UGA broke on run for around 80 yds for a td and other than that Boise pretty much owned them. Also, this puts Boise 6-0 vs. non conference ranked opponets in the last three seasons. So, imo the "Boise can't play with the big teams" comments........uh, o.k. :idunno:. I still believe that UGA will have a good season, should they bounce back and beat South Carolna next week then imo they could possibly run the table and win the SEC east. On a side note, those butt ugly uni's that UGA wore looked like some kind of bad clown suit. They deserved to lose for wearing those things, lol.
September 4, 201115 yr Author Why does Georgia's coach still have his job?? I know what you aew saying, Richt has underachieved in the last few years at UGA. Having said that I will also say that M. Right is a very good football coach and a class act of a person, he stands for the right things and represents himself and UGA with class. I know that alot of teams could and currently are doing alot worse than Richt. All of that will get him nowhere should things not turn around. Should Richt lose to South Carolina next week then I would say that the pressure would certainly grow to the point that it would probably not be there in 2012. Richt has had a top recruiting class last season and again for this season and I know that he and UGA are expecting to win the east division in the SEC this season.
September 4, 201115 yr Why does Georgia's coach still have his job??His record at Georgia isn't that bad: 96-35 (after last night) & 53-27 (SEC) starting his 10th year. Also has two conference titles and two conference division titles. has also won seven out of ten bowl games, and six out of his completed nine seasons he's won 10 or more games. However in today's sports it's what have you done lately, and his last two seasons have been average or subpar.
September 4, 201115 yr Loved the unis for both teams. Boise looked good. The jury is out on how good of a team they beat though, IMO. I like Richt and think it would be a mistake to get rid of him, but wouldn't be surprised at all.
September 4, 201115 yr I don't want to hear any long-term BGPers slam Mark Richt. When I said a few years ago that he would be on thin ice in Georgia people laughed at me. I like Richt but he simply is not on par with the top coaches in the SEC IMO. With the talent they have they should be really, really tough. I do think that the main weakness for the offense this year is WR play. Boise looked pretty good against SEC athletes. I was shocked at how well they controlled the line of scrimmage. If Petersen was at a program like USC or Ohio State he would end up with multiple national championships. I think he should really look into the Ohio State job this off-season since Kellen Moore is graduating. He'll likely never get a QB like that again at Boise. Strike while the iron is hot, Petersen.
September 5, 201115 yr Boise, if undefeated, deserves a title shot, right now.Because they beat a mediocre UGA team? If they go undefeated, as it stands right now, this will be their best win period. The only other decent team they will play is TCU and they just gave up 400 points to a Baylor team that will lose 5 games min.

That's quite a statement. There have been some pretty good coaches at the elite schools who haven't won mutliple titles. Is it safe to assume you rate him as the best coach in America?
September 6, 201115 yr Because they beat a mediocre UGA team? If they go undefeated, as it stands right now, this will be their best win period. The only other decent team they will play is TCU and they just gave up 400 points to a Baylor team that will lose 5 games min. I don't believe that it matters who they go on to play. After Saturday's performance, I believe that their defense can play with anyone and Kellen Moore proved that he is as good of a quarterback as anyone, especially after considering what he lost from the offense to the draft. If Boise runs the table this year, I believe their chances are solid of making the national title. If Georgia goes on to win the SEC East, their chances are even better.
September 6, 201115 yr Why does Georgia's coach still have his job?? Because he's a good coach, not to mention that he is one of the more proven ethical ones in comparison to others.
September 7, 201115 yr That's quite a statement. There have been some pretty good coaches at the elite schools who haven't won mutliple titles. Is it safe to assume you rate him as the best coach in America? Outside of Nick Saban & Urban Meyer I don't think anyone else is close. Both of those guys have 2 Championships, and in all honesty will probably get a few more each (if Meyer comes back somewhere). I'd rank them Meyer, Saban, then Petersen. Whe it comes to scheme and gameplan I think Saban & Petersen are in a class all by themselves.

There's a better chance the Reds make the playoffs this season than there is of Georgia winning the East. They are a middle of the road SEC team these days. So because Boise defense can hold an average Georgia team to 3 scores, they're elite?
