His record at Georgia isn't that bad:

 

96-35 (after last night) & 53-27 (SEC) starting his 10th year. Also has two conference titles and two conference division titles. has also won seven out of ten bowl games, and six out of his completed nine seasons he's won 10 or more games.

 

However in today's sports it's what have you done lately, and his :thumb:last two seasons have been average or subpar.

:thumb: On everything that you said. Especially your last sentence. UGA could and imo have done alot worse over the years. The Bulldog faithful imo are looking for another Vince Dooley and those are few and far between. Should Dooley's son keep up the good job that he is doing in rebuilding UT then things might get interesting in a few years down the road.

There's a better chance the Reds make the playoffs this season than there is of Georgia winning the East. They are a middle of the road SEC team these days.

You're killing me UKMF :lol:. Don't get me wrong, I like your post and agree with alot of them :thumb:. You keep slamming Boise when all they do is keep beating the so named "big boys" year in and year out. Boise probably wouldn't go unbeaten in a better conference but they wouldn't be at the bottom either. They have a great defense. They lost their two NFL draft picks a WR and they just keep going. Martin is one of the top RB's in the country and imo Moore is the best QB in the country along with Luck. C. Peterson is one of the top 3-4 coaches in the counry right now.

The thing that Boise lacks when it would come to playing in the best conferences week in and week out is their depth. Boise's first team on both O & D imo could hold their own with most anyone and beat a large number of teams.

UGA played a bad football game, Boise made them look bad and Boise will make alot of teams look bad. I look for UGA to bounce back and have a very good season, they are talented. I would not be all that suprised if they would pull the upset of USC this week. I don't care a bit to pick it or be wrong. I was crazy enough to pick Oregon last week.

Anyway, this was my soap box rant about Boise for the year. I am not going on anymore trying to defend them. They certainly speak for themselves, all they do is win.

I don't believe that it matters who they go on to play. After Saturday's performance, I believe that their defense can play with anyone and Kellen Moore proved that he is as good of a quarterback as anyone, especially after considering what he lost from the offense to the draft. If Boise runs the table this year, I believe their chances are solid of making the national title. If Georgia goes on to win the SEC East, their chances are even better.

 

Should Boise run the table it would be hard for the BCS to not give them a shot. Unless there would be two other teams that would be unbeaten, say an Oklahoma and Alabama/LSU or maybe aother SEC unbeaten if there were any and it would still be debatable. Also, someone from the Big10 that is now 12 could sneak in if things fell just right.

My opinion is that should Boise go unbeaten they would desrve a shot. A real travesty would be if they were passed over by a one loss team.

Now, that is several different scenerios of many which proves that it is senseless to try and speculate anything now, but we are anyway. :lol:

Outside of Nick Saban & Urban Meyer I don't think anyone else is close. Both of those guys have 2 Championships, and in all honesty will probably get a few more each (if Meyer comes back somewhere). I'd rank them Meyer, Saban, then Petersen. Whe it comes to scheme and gameplan I think Saban & Petersen are in a class all by themselves.

 

You may be right. Maybe we'll find out someday. I'm guessing Ohio State may be looking for a new coach at some point. I don't know why they wouldn't want him.

South Carolina is considered the top team in the east. The question is, how many of the west teams are better than them? I think it is possible that the top four in the west are all better than the east teams.

I was thinking more of the SEC East & the comment about Georgia having as good a chance of winning the East as the Reds do of making the Playoffs. I think the USC/UGA game will determine who fills the SEC East slot in the title game later this year.

 

But yes, overall in the SEC, I agree with UKMF that the Dogs are middle of the road in the overall conference.

I personally expect Mississippi State to have a really, really good year. And I think you have a good point about there possibly being four teams in the west better than the top team in the east.

The way their defense looked overall, I believe that they can play with the best of them.
