Not too sure about that. Alot would depend on who's coaching, not too mention that none of those schools are really power houses, and that's in large part why we're having this discussion right now.

They would have just as many players on their roster as T. They would also beat T with no problem.

Without sounding too aloof on the subject, I sell food for a living and seafood happens to be my specialty. That being said, their are three markets in the entire world that dominate cod (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cod) sales. Those being Europe (a huge test group), New England, and the Ohio Valley......where do you guess we fit in?

Back to the original question, the building of new high schools with no opportunity for tuition students hurts the schools in Boone County. For instance, there were some good football players that would have added speed and depth to Ryle's team last year that played for Ryle as freshmen. They built Cooper and they had no choice to stay at Ryle. There is no tuition option.

RP, you kind of answered your own question and Clyde has covered it well above. The talent is spread out much more in N. Ky. among the schools you list, the 6A's and others. Here is some demographic info that backs up what we are saying.

 

In just Kenton Co. if you start in Covington on Dixie Hwy. and drive the 10 miles to Florence, you go through something like 15 cities, 6 or 7 school public school districts plus 4 private school districts. That is in a 10 mile stretch. In Ft. Mitchell, a community of about 8,000, there are students that attend Beechwood, Covington Catholic, Holy Cross, Cincinnati St. X., Cincinnati Moeller and non football Catholic schools St. Henry, Villa Madonna and Covington Latin School. If you took CCH, Holy Cross and St. Henry and made them one school that I believe would still be smaller than Trinity, you would have a 6A football powerhouse. In Campbell County you have Ft. Thomas (about 17,000 pop.) with students attending both Highlands and Newport Central Catholic. Combine NCC and Highlands and that would be one heck of a program. The population of Kenton County is only 159,000 and there are something like 17 high schools. Compare that with Jefferson County's population of 740,000. There is a much smaller population base and the talent is spread out more in N. Ky.

 

Agreed and like I said before, until NKY's population doubles, or really more like quadruple's then they won't have nearly the numbers/talent to pull from that Trinity or St. X does. If NKY were to grow like that they'd build plenty of schools to support that growth and thus continue to keep the talent spread thin.

 

I guess maybe the best comparison is that alot of people from Louisville are acting as though Louisville is comprable to NKY in over all size which is some what accurate, but when you break NKY down into 3 counties, and then districts that don't have open enrollment, etc, well suddenly there's a huge disparity. Example being Kenton County has open enrollment among Dixie, Scott, and Simon Kenton, which has a population of roughly 158,000, which is like 1/5 of what Trinity has in just Louisville. So IF you assume that kid's are going to the school of their choice for football then that leaves the total population choosing between 2 different PUBLIC 6A schools(Dixie & Simon Kenton), however we can't forget like Clyde and VOR said above; although Kenton County has 3 public schools only 2 are 6A, and then we have Beechwood, Lloyd, Cov Cath, Holmes, Holy Cross, and Calvary Christian. Just more thinning of the talent, and again this example is only in Kenton county which has around 1/5 of the population Louisville does.

You start picking players from each I think you have a quality team. Maybe not this year because of lack of quality linemen. Some years would be better than others.
