I'll pick North Laurel over Harlan in the finals. Leslie, Paintsville and Hazard could also be dangerous, and Knott seems to be a lot better.

 

How do Phelps and Betsy Layne get in the tournament? Were they better than I remember from last year?

Why is Phelps in the WYMT Tournament?

I'm going to pick the Eagles of Leslie County to take the championship trophy back to hyden.

Probably because of the Stepp kid that plays for them.

Hazard will have a hard time but they're my pick to win it... WYMT set this t-ment up the wrong way.

You would think that the folks at WYMT would have wanted the best 4 teams in the tournament to be in the semifinals barring an upset. But looking at the brackets it shows that good ol' politics are alive and still going strong in the mountains. Not putting down any teams, but from the looks of things, SOME teams were given a gift and somebody didn't want Hazard to win it again because if they do, and they might, the Dawgs would have to beat the 3 other best teams in the tournament. Not much love for the 2-time defending champs. Surely these brackets weren't put in place for the fans but to make certain people happy. Just an opinion.

I couldn't agree more navy. You would think they would want the best four teams in the semifinals. By the time the tournament comes around it will be interesting to see who is playing well and who is not.

Haven't seen some of the teams, so I am guessing!

I doubt Harlan views Paintsville as a "gift" in the first round.

I say you are right. Harlan may not even beat Paintsville. That will probably be a good game. I think Harlan beat them at the buzzard last year @ East Ridge. Both teams have most of their players back.
