Coach Lickert has a pretty good staff that mostly has been together since June. He will get Campbell turned around and if you doubt that look at his resume and when CC is a winner dont jump on the band wagon.

First of all it is Styer and secondly, I disagree with the coaching errors and about the staff not staying. Coach Lickert knew exactly what he was getting when HE applied for the job. Right now he has 3 or 4 sophomores starting on both sides of the ball. They will get better and if they do not he will put someone else in.

After what I read about the whole coaching issue in Campbell county last year. I just can't see too many people pleased with what they saw last night. I do hope that Lickert turns things around for CCH. I 've met more than a few of their kids over the years and they are, to a man, very good kids. The Camel fans are some of the most accommodating I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. All that said, I still don't back off the statement I made. There were coaching errors made in Purple last night.

What coaching errors are you referring too? I do believe after they got down by 14 points that you could see the kids deflate. They were beat by a mature talented team. Pretty easy to say coaching errors after the fact.

Please tell me what you saw as coaches errors? Like I said in my previous statement to you, Coach Lickert has a very young team, a much younger team than what CCHS had last year. Were you in their film session this morning? Do you know if there were any errors the kids made, for example, ran a wrong route or did the wrong thing on defense? You can blame Coach Lickert for those "coaching mistakes" but until you know what was called and what was executed I don't think you can really say there were coaching mistakes. One reason why I can't stand "fan coaching" most of the time those "fans" are WRONG!

Wasn't at the game, and I agree its hard to be critical on a new staff this early in the season. However, if the team basically gave up like several said after getting down a couple scores, then that does not speak well for the staff?? Also sounds like they made no adjustments, and were lucky that CCH basically "ran out the clock" in the second half.

It just seems like they are constantly rebuilding--The kids and very loyal fans deserve better than a program in a constant state of flux!!

Campbell has about 60 - 65 kids on JV/Varsity. They are down # wise in my opinion as a lot of kids (juniors this year) quit after a very miserable freshman year and never came back. Whose fault is this? Lickert's? I don't think the kids gave up like many said. I think they got worn down from the size difference. Like you said, you were not at the game so you can't be critical on the new staff and how the kids reacted after they got down.

 

Whose fault is it they are always rebuilding? Just curious who people would like to blame on this. Administration (previous), freshman level coaches, former coaches or new coaches? Just curious!

#6 Bir (CCH) and #18 Durham (CC) were the players of the game. However, CCH's Talkers is perhaps the best leg that I have ever witnessed at Bob Miller Stadium. A kicker like that is a very valuable weapon. If he kicked off from the 25, I feel confident that he would still reach the end zone. What a performance!

 

Good luck to the Colonels. I agree with one of the posters. They will give Dale some heartburn this year.

 

As far as the Camels go, Coach Lickert has done a great job thus far. In a relative short time period as the head coach, he has instilled a love for football in his Team. We are lucky to have a coach that loves the game of football....but more importantly, loves & respects his kids even more! He has assembled a first class staff of coaches IMO!

Being that CCH is the single most important game on HHS schedule every year, we agree.

CovCath will be bigger than every team they play this year on both the offensive and defensive line.

Campbell county school board decided 5 years ago to separate themselves from the Red Devil program. They wanted to charge us $1500 a day for the field. Then decided that they still did not want us. Then decided they did not like coach Styer and Staff. Then hired a new stafff. Then most of the board and super are gone. Now current players and staff from Varsity down to 3 graders are left with a terrible system that will not work. They want a Ft Thomas youth feeder system that will not work because it is made up of parents parents that play favorites to their kids. I am sorry but this is the honest truth, Beechwood 6 and 7 grade players beat Campbell County 7 graders 35 -0. This is a 6a team getting beat by a 1a school.

Yeah because that youth league in Ft. Thomas hasn't panned out....Even if there are a few parents that play favorites at least kids get in the game. The Red Devils play the best 11 and don't worry about anyone else. I can't remember a top player from the Red Devils going to CCHS the last decade anyway. So it looks to me like the board made a pretty good decision 5 years ago. The NKYFL is fading because of the win at all cost mentality of the league. I loved playing in the league(NKYFL) and was good enough to never come out of the game, but I can see why others who didn't wouldn't want to play.
