If it was just a scrimmage, then I don't understand why all these judgments are being made. :idunno: A scrimmage, although helpful for some, obviously isn't the same thing as a meaningful game. How about we all wait to "close the book" on a team (not just Conner, but any team) until after the first REAL game of the season. I don't really understand the reasons behind this thread at this particular point in the season...

Granted it was a scrimmage but when little school drills big school it is a problem for big school.

Did we close the book on CCH and Dixie when they got drilled by little ole Beechwood in 2008? Those were even regular season games and not scrimmages. Wonder how that happened?

No I read and understood fully your comments. I don't believe you are going to be contending for any state title this year in 5A no matter how weak it is and your improvement still will not put you in the hunt. Next year more realistic.

Read, yeah. Understood, nah. 3) I'm not Conner, nor am I a fan. 4) The point was that it's too early to count anyone out. Except Scott. 5A is the great wide open. A few teams are peeking over the pack, but no one seems poised to run away with it. I don't see Conner as a big-time contender, but an August scrimmage against a loaded NKY power is not a reason to phone in the rest of the season.

I thought the bigger schools advantage was depth..at least that is what I am reading/learning in the other threads.

Generally bigger does equal more depth. Except for in private schools cases. But considering what I just stated.. That's irrelevant anyways, because that is not the case in these two schools cases.

I know Beechwood is good, really good, but 5A teams can't get drilled by 1A teams and expect to compete.

No you can't and no you shouldn't. It's not very wise to make judgments and form conclusions based on such limited observations. Furthermore, what do you mean "expect to compete"? For what, the state title; the semi-finals; quarters; district?
