If Seattle entertains the offer of giving up a 1st round pick for Carson Palmer, I will have to strongly re-evaluate my confidence in them as an organization that I can comfortably cheer for.

 

After giving up a 3rd for Whitehurst, that might just break the camel's back.

If I were the Bengals, a #1 pick would be necessary for me to deal Palmer. If it doesn't come, I wait till next off season and re-evaluate. If all you are getting is draft picks, then no harm in waiting it out. Actually, it might be better to wait and see where that draft pick will actually fall based on the trading team's record. If it is a bad team and their second round pick is at the top of round two, then you might go there but you won't know that till after this year's trading deadline. Hold out for a #1 or wait till the off season. The other option would be to set it up as a contingent pick based on how many games Palmer plays. If he plays in a certain number of games, the pick moves to a #1 pick.

So while other teams compete for divisional, conference and Super Bowl titles; Mike Brown and his hand puppet Marvin will be sitting back making excuses, bemoaning the Bengal's luck and saying how close they are to being competitive; while pocketing about an extra $100 mil the next two years?? Gotta make the taxpayers of near bankrupt Hamilton County feel good as they pay for upkeep on his palace, while the roads, schools, etc. go unattended!!

Your a Bengals fan correct? If that is the case would they be your favorite team then still? Or would you find a new team to root for if they went to LA? If you would find a new team to root for, then you might as well just do that now. It's not like Cincy would ever get a new football team if they left. I have been a season ticket holder for most of the last 20 years but I have given my tickets up and will root for the Colts this fall and the Dolphins when I am in Fla. for the winter starting in Nov. The Bengals will never get another dime from me until major changes are made and I don't see that happening with the arrogance of one Mike Brown.

With the Bengals now signing Lawson at LB, if they can also sign Whitner at safety. Then honestly they didn't do to bad this offseason if you count the draft and the free agents they brought in. Losing Joseph hurt, but getting Clements helped, Laswon is a solid pick up, and Whitner will be a big upgrade at safety. They still need to get a lineman who can pass a physical too. However if they do that, then they actually had a decent off season in terms of trying to fill needs. The big question mark will come down to QB play and how Dalton or Gradkowski does. There is talent on the offense, and the defense should be solid. It will just come down to QB play, which could make all the difference between a horrible season or a season where if they get off to a good start with the easy schedule who knows what could happen because in the NFL confidence is huge.

I understand what you are saying, but that is just not going to happen. So it basically is find a new team like you say you are doing, or just have to hope maybe he by dumb luck puts a winning team together. Which I hope you stay with your new team, even if they do get lucky and actually do well here soon in the next couple of years. They are either your team or they are not IMO.

Everybody knocking the Bengals we had Chad, Palmer, T.O and Joseph and we sucked now there gone maybe will win some games now! Brown got rid of the bad eggs and now look at all the players we are signing plus all the draft picks signed. There is no selfish players its all about the team now. 10-6 and a big WHO DEY!

If the Bengals wanted to do something "Big" why not go after Osi Umenyiora? They have the money to spend and a first round pick would be nothing for an impact defensive player like him.

If they wanted to do something big, I would much rather them go after a guy like Leonard Davis to play guard. That guy is a monster, and does a good job on the line. We have some good young guys on the D-line now. What they have to make sure they do is put as good of a line as they can in front of Dalton.
