The Saints and Colts were the only two teams that threw more passes than Detroit last year. If healthy, Stafford at worst should be a solid fantasy QB and could easily be more than that.

 

This year Detroit's defense should be better and may allow the Lions to run the ball more if/when they get up in the second half of games.

I gave him some serious consideration before picking Best. If we knew what was going to happen with Brown and Williams, I might have picked him. But if one or both are brought back, then his value will be minimal.

Im not a big fan of speeding up the draft early. Every year the "other conference" blows through their draft making fun of the "best conference" for being slow, and for what...........to have a full roster a month early and nothing to do with it. HOWEVER, if there was ever a reason to go a 12 hour time limit early it would be because Namecips is against it.

I don't think we need to do that just yet. We've still got over a month before the season starts, Sept 8th. For the most part, this is a veteran group of players and we can close it out quickly if we need to pull the trigger. Just my 2 cents, I'm sure AR will want to give me back some change.

There isn't really a "deadline" as to when it starts, the times we have used it we didn't start it until the middle of August.

Its true, the Lions will not throw as much this year. Between Best and Leshoure & the improvements of their defense they will run the ball alot. They will still put the ball in the air though, I think Stafford can be really efficient if he doesn't start throwing picks (which he did do a little in college). Not as many yards, less INTs, plenty of TDs. If healthy, which is a big if for him, Stafford could be a pretty decent option at QB in Fantasy Football IMO.
