He managed 304 yards and three touchdowns in the season’s final 11 games, missing six due to the injury. As long as he's healthy, Gates should return as a standout option in all leagues. We consider Gates the No. 1 Fantasy TE in all leagues, and he's worth drafting as early as Round 4.

 

I was just busting your chops. If Gates is as good this year as he was last year before the injury he's one of the 15 best players in fantasy football for this league. He was getting all kinds of points for me then. As far as TEs go I think there is a huge dropoff from Gates to even someone like Dallas Clark.

As for the underlined, from my experience with that site, saying he is worth drafting as early as Round 4 is usually meant for 12-team leagues. At least I convince myself that sometimes...meaning he's definitely worth that in our league.

No way. He was the right pick up as far as I'm concerned. He's just as valuable as a high level RB or WR, even though there is a bigger difference in the other positions from the truly elite to the rest of the field IMO. If he's healthy he's an automatic 80 yards (8 points) at a minimum per week. Most weeks he'll probably have a TD to add on to the that and alot of weeks he has some crazy yardage numbers. For someone who gets their points from catching the ball he's as good and consistent as you could want IMO.

I don't think traditional round values work in a league this big. Too many players in this league. If you take Gates in round 4 in a 12 team league you probably could still get two or three really good options for your team at the WR/RB spots. After round 5 in this league I think its really hit or miss with RBs & WRs, though the WRs seem to be lasting a little longer or there are more of them this year.

Well I hope so because I still don't have one yet haha! Not sure if I'm taking one this round either.

I started to take Gates but am glad I didn't now. If Namecips wanted him than he is bound to be a failure this year.
