What does everyone think, should the MLB All Star game determine the home field advantage in the World Series?

I voted no. Simply bc a game that is a mid season exhibition game for the fans should not determine such a important factor in a World Series.

I like it and it's not a whole lot more arbitrary than something like "best record" considering the unbalanced scheduling in Major League Baseball.

No. But if they took away the fan vote, did away with a player from every team, and got rid of the notion that everyone must play then I could be ok with it. In fact that would probably make for a very entertaining game.

 

I will however give Selig credit for thinking outside the box which is something the sports world needs more of.

I am disappointed in Jeter bailing on the all-star game. You're either healthy enough to play or you're not. You can't be healthy enough to play regular games but not the AS game.

Not the best idea in the world; a feeble attempt to inject life into the game. It's not like the players/teams are going all-out to win; and it seems like half of the players come up with gimpy hammies so they can avoid playinig in it.

If you didn't see AS games prior to about 1980 you can't fully appreciate the decline of this once great game.

Bud Selig's worst move as commissioner and a total overreaction to the tie game a few years ago ... if we have to use something to determine home-field advantage instead of the rotation system MLB used to use, give it to the league that has the best record in interleague play.

I think the 2002 AS game led him to thinking outside the box. Great idea, let's play an exhibition game that determines home field advantage.

This would be a much better option. What about the winner of the HR derby takes home field? Even better, let the PCL v IL determine home field.
