Both have histories of community activism.

Bachman makes extended statements that reflect on her level of understanding of issues or beliefs. Much, much different than saying an errant word or missing someone's age by a few days.

It really depends on which side of the fence you are on.. To me, most any of Obamas understandings of issues is way off base... And to those on the left, anything they don't agree with is labeled flaky...
