June 27, 201115 yr Examples: 57 or 58 states The Selma March in 1965 did not contribute to his birth in 1961. Kansas tornadoes in May 2007 killed 12 people, not "ten thousand". Afghans do not speak Arabic. Within 24 hours, Obama reversed his assertion that Iran did not pose a "serious threat" to the US to an assertion that the threat is “grave”. Declaring that Memorial Day honors an "unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today" Saying that his uncle liberated Auschwitz Asserted that the Nuremberg tribunals offered habeas corpus and appeal rights Referred to "the bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor" Anyone?
June 27, 201115 yr I will speak in general because I can't get to the video to come up. Every public figure who has to answer questions off the cuff is going to mis-speak whether it be Bachman, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan ... whoever. I think the line of distinction is whether the incorrect comment is an oversight by the speaker or it is an insight into the speaker's beliefs/philosophy. I think that is where the question by Wallace comes from. Bachman has made some comments that cause some to question her beliefs/philosophy and Wallace gave her an opportunity to address that.
June 27, 201115 yr In all seriousness, Wallace was being nice. He actually teed it up nicely for her to get something out there to answer her critics who thinks she is a goofball (hand raised). As I said in another thread she is going to really struggle with the talk of her being the head of the TP when her actions say she enjoys sucking on the taxpayer bosom for her family and her constituents . The one difference is that she hasn't started campaigning yet so let's just feel sure that there are campaign trail gaffes ahead for her like those that campaigning Sen. Obama uttered.

So....did he ask Obama if he was a flake?

Which talking-points blog did that list come from?
June 27, 201115 yr It's a legitimate question, given some of her statements in the past ... I think it's a legitimate question to ask of President Obama as well, given that he screwed up something that second graders know to be inaccurate....
June 27, 201115 yr Author Which talking-points blog did that list come from? Are you claiming he never made the gaffes?
June 27, 201115 yr So....did he ask Obama if he was a flake? Did he ask John McCain? Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Jon Huntsman, Newt Gingrich? I don't understand why you compare this to Obama.
June 27, 201115 yr I think it's a legitimate question to ask of President Obama as well, given that he screwed up something that second graders know to be inaccurate.... It's one thing to misspeak ... it's another thing to make some of the outlandish statements that Bachmann has made.
June 27, 201115 yr Did he ask John McCain? Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Jon Huntsman, Newt Gingrich? I don't understand why you compare this to Obama. I'd agree that it's a fair question to ask to any and all political candidates.

June 27, 201115 yr Even better point. Could it be because she's a female that she's disrespected so? I think that's a reasonable question.
