Fire away...

(Unlike LeBron :p)

First thing on my mind is the lockout. I wonder how long it is going to take to get that mess figured out. 20% pay cuts for players? Franchise Tags? Hard salary cap? Guaranteed money in the 1st round cut to the lottery picks? Max contract 4 years? July 1, 2011 is the day.

I'm thinking the NBA gets this fixed kind of quickly. The NBA is losing money, NBA players have been known to make too much. Other than megastars, almost everyone else makes too much. Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay come to mind. Let alone guys like Eddie Curry or Brendan Haywood. Most bigtime players seem to be moving towards shorter contracts. I do think we could start to see more midlevel guys going overseas to play where they can make more money.

Just for starters...

Vince Carter ($17.5m), Richard Hamilton ($12.5m), Baron Davis ($13m), Jose Calderon ($9m), Gilbert Arenas ($17.7m), Rashard Lewis ($19.6m), Michael Redd ($18.3m), Matt Carroll ($4.3m), Mike Dunleavy ($10.6m), Jason Kapono ($6.6m), Andrei Kirilenko ($17.8m), Marvin Williams ($7.2m), Jared Jeffries ($6.8m), Vlad Radmanovic ($6.8m), Hedo Turkoglu ($10.2m), Boris Diaw ($9m), Marcus Banks ($4.8m), Joel Pryzbilla ($7.4m), TJ Ford (8.5m), Darius Songalia ($4.8m), Andris Biedrins ($9m), Yao Ming ($17.7m), Sam Dalembert ($13.4m), Memo Okur ($9.9m), DeSagana Diop ($6.4m), Jermaine O'Neal ($5.7m), Eddy Curry ($11.2m), Dan Gadzuric ($7.2m), Troy Murphy ($11.9m), Luke Walton ($5.2m).

They should make a rule that if you don't start or average 24 minutes a game then you can't make more than 2.5 million.

There is at least 50 million in DNP-Coach's Decision on that list.

After the meltdown in that game (Game 4?) against Portland, I probably posted something like, "No heart - that's why Dallas will never win a title."

I take it back, and congratulations to the Mavericks.

I'm wondering how many of these are toward the end of their contracts. Sometimes those long-term deals look pretty sweet early on, but not so much later on. Happens in all the major sports.

I am embarrassed for the people of Ohio after their governor basically said our sports scene is so bad we take joy in one player's failings that resulted in said governor issuing a proclamation for the Mavs. Weak.

Thought that list looked familiar (except for the addition of Luke Walton). Give credit where credit is due ... :D

Why? I would imagine most folks from I-70 north probably agree with the Guv. Below I-70 they probably don't care.

I did steal it but that is something that can easily be looked up. I just didn't feel like making a new one. That's like pulling a batting average and giving credit to the last place you found it. :D I added Walton to put my stamp on it.

You could've at least rearranged the order. :D

We suck. Let's wallow in others' misery. If there are a lot of people whose day was made vy the Heat losing then Lebron was right and the people deserve their lame governor.
