He called him after we got OBL and invited him to Ground Zero with him also. We also have no idea how long they talked and what they talked about. I would think they had a productive and engaging conversation.Agreed ... Obama was classy enough to call Bush before he went public with the announcement and to invite him to the Ground Zero ceremony. Bush deserved both of those courtesies.
May 9, 201115 yr Some say that gays would do better at marriage than heterosexuals do. I am for gay marriage simply because I have no right to tell my neighbor how to live their life and they also should be able to receive the same health benefits that my family receives. The fact that a gay couple can adopt kids but not get married is kind of stupid, IMO. I am with you on global warming as well as a few other of your points. I am not as cynical as you though and believe that our government performs with the people's best interests at heart. I think the public has no idea of the kind of decisions our government is confronted with on a daily basis and that none of us would have a quick answer like we think we would if we were presented with evey single fact. A gay person can adopt, gay couples can't. Otherwise I completely agree with your post.

One for health, the other my morales and the way gays are portraying it is cool to be this way and so accept it. it undermines my moral issues, why all of a sudden do they have to be married, what was wrong with 1950 when a gay didnt have to be married. I am sorry but I know times have passed me by and I am old fashioned, but I refuse to accept man and man or etc. it is a morality issue, not the biggest threat in the world. give me a break, i actually tried to throw good points out there, but it does no good to try on here. WOW! Way to change the entire thread! How do gays effect YOUR health? Morales? Where does divorce come in on morales? over 50% in the USA! Heck, they can't do much worse than heterosexuals. People who are not bothering you or effect you have to change or hide who they are just so you are happy? It does no good because you are WRONG yet again! So, how do your gay friends feel about your ideas about how they are "offending you and effecting you" JUST because they only want what you can have? Do you honestly think that gay people everywhere just decided in the last couple of years that they want to be able to marry? May 10, 201115 yr How do gays effect YOUR health? In a previous post mountain ref stated that global warming and homosexuals were issues for him. When he said "one affects my health" he was talking about global warming. I think things got mixed up a bit.

Their final judgement is not in our hands. I know quite a few gay people and have some in my family. While I do not approve of their lifestyle they deserve to live their lives as they choose and should be able to enjoy their lives fully. What they do in the privacy of their home is between them. The delusion that gays are trying force feed their life style on non gays is laughable at best. Two men or two women being allowed to marry in the eyes of the law has ZERO effect on your life, period.
