Was just talking to a buddy of mine. He said he might be one of only four to every shoot in the 60's all six days.

Here is the article your buddy read.

======================================

My "ouch" story of the day: long-hitting Aussie Scott Hend started the day tied for 6th. Safe? Right? Not so fast. He is 7 over and currently tied for 48th (and in danger of not even locking up a full time membership on the Nationwide Tour). Wow.

Cejka eagled 18 to finish one back...Holmes is playing 17.

32 players got their cards, or so it appears it will finish. Some notable misses:

Briny Baird.....T33

Tommy Tolles.....T42

Steve Sticker......T42

Scott Hend.........T42 (started the day T6...shot 78)

Peter Tomasulo.....T49 (started the day T22...shot 75)

Kevin Stadler......T73 (although today's 65 was a heck of an effort)

Larry Mize......T87

Notah Begay III......T87

John birdied the Par 3 17th and is 2 up playing the Par 5 18th.

FYI, Holmes is the only member of the final threesome (leaders heading into today) that is under par today.

Holmes birdies 18 to shoot 69 (6th consecutive round in the 60's) (see article posted earlier) to win the Q-school tourney by 3 strokes over Alex Cejka!

Way to make UK and the whole state of KY proud.

Look forward to watching Flesch, Holmes, and K. Perry compete on tour next year.

Holmes' agent said on Golf Central that today's win was worth "...high six figures to....seven figures...for John before ever playing in an event...."

So, how was your day today? :D

WOW! Congrats to John! He deserves every bit of it. I can now say I've played against (and got beat by, of course) a member of the PGA Tour! I played with Holmes my senior year of high school in the state tournament. He was a 7th grader and he beat me by a shot. He shot 76. I can remember telling Drew Conliffe after the round while we were checking our cards that "this guy's got it goin' on!" I know he would be good and I'm glad to see he has made it to the big leagues!!!
