You think Kobe could co-exist with a ball hog like Westbrook? I don't see Westbrook in LA with Kobe at all. But I can definitely see OKC trading Westbrook. With Harden and Durant they would be fine and maybe better depending on who they get for Westbrook.

Kobe isn't like KD he wouldn't allow that to happen I don't think. It would be an interesting situation that is for sure and OKC would get a much needed big man.

With no zen master to make it work, I don't see it happening. If you were OKC, would Gasol be enough? Would you rather have Bynum? Do you see Harden playing PG or would they need to get someone?

I could see it being very possible. Thunder still look good when they have Maynor in the game, and he is still growing and maturing as a player. They also have Nate Robinson. I think the Lakers would do it just to get younger and to fill a position of need, PG. They could still plug Odom into the four spot.

 

 

If LA were able to pull off a trade like that then still be able to work a deal for somebody like Howard then they would be very dangerous. As bad as I hate to say it Bynum has value (especially now he stayed healthy for the final push), so if Kupchak can pull another miracle like he did with the gift from Memphis a few years ago the Lakers will not be down long. Not sure the Magic would want to do something that didn't involve Gasol and Bynum, but if Mitch could convince them to let Dwight go for just Bynum and anyone else other than Kobe then they will be back on the scene in a big way. Too bad Phil won't be there to run the triangle, but Shaw has been on the bench for a while so he knows whats up. Plus if the Lakers can assemble a trio like Westbrook, Kobe, Howard I'm not sure how long Phil will stay retired.

 

 

One things for sure, Lakers are not going to be down long, they are old right now but they always get it done. I know a lot of people in Lakers land want Chris Paul but Westbrook and his UCLA connections may end up being the better fit in the long run. If the Thunder crash and burn I can see them tinkering with what they have and Durant isn't going to be the one to go.

They have Perk and they have him signed to an extension. I think if they can get Gasol then they will be looking to contend for a championship for Gasol's last few years of solid production. Gasol is still a good player, just got worn down at the end of the year. You pair him with Perk down low, then Ubaka off the bench, then you have a lethal front court to go with KD. Maynor and Robinson could sufficiently fill the PG role I would think. They could also look in another direction for a point.

If OKC is going to make a trade with Westbrook the first guy I would go after is CP3. Sure he wants to go to NY but I think if he landed on a contender that could pay him max dollars he'd be happy. I don't think the Hornets could turn that down either, and I think Westbrook would do fine with his own team.

 

Westbrook for Gasol shouldn't and won't happen IMO. Gasol doesn't have much trade value at all IMO, and I don't see OKC stunting Ibaka's growth to pick up someone like Gasol. They could fill other needs if they let go of RR, like a legit starting 2 guard.

Also if Shaw is the man PG is the last thing LA needs I think. The triangle is made for a spot up PG that doesn't create as much. Westbrook and the triangle would be a terrible match IMO.

What star could he bring by himself? You don't get equal value for him. He'd bring someone like Danny Granger in the best of circumstances IMO. That's about what he's worth IMO. Who wants him? He's on the wrong side of his prime and has proven in his career that he's not a true #1 guy.

HT just because you wish Gasol could bring back some real talent in a trade doesn't make it so. He's overpaid for what he's going to be going forward, he's not a big ticket seller by himself, I don't see any team that would give up alot for him unless Bynum was included.

Sure I'm sure the Nets would give back Sasha Vujacic for Gasol but I don't even think they'd move Brook Lopez for him. Memphis would probably like to move Rudy Gay's contract but they really have no need for Gasol. New Orleans trading CP3 for Pau is a pipe dream IMO. I think they'd be better off letting Paul walk and collecting cap room, because Pau Gasol isn't going to save their organization. I'll be waiting on a realistic trade HT.
