I love football, basketball, and baseball. Love them.

Exactly. Football is truly a learning experience. That one of the reasons I love it so much.

-Best- Freindships. Hanging out with buddies all day was great. Going through the hell of two-a-days together is a really bonding experience.

-Winning big games. There was no better feeling than beating an arch rival twice en route to a state championship.

-Atmosphere. From a CovCath grad, there was no greater feeling than hearing the crazies go nuts.

 

-Worst-Time consumption. It was a rough putting in the time.

-Aches and pains. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can remember feeling tired and sore from December through December.

-Losing. I'm a very competitive person. I didn't take losing very well, especially the last one.

Best thing to me is just playing the game, the physical nature of it all, having to battle with yourself, the elements, and the opponent. Being that guy that your team mates depend on and making the big play.

 

Worst thing, is the outside forces that effect the game, dumb parents, politics, distracted coaches, poor coaching.

Gives a whole different meaning to the phrase "stretching before the game".

If I had to pick just one for each, I'd have to say that the worst thing about it was the residual "old football injuries" - for me, they're bad shoulders. The best thing was the sense of work ethic that was instilled in me at a stage in life where I feel learning a good work ethic is of the most importance.

 

Agree 100% I am reminded everyday with the pain in my knee and shoulder but with that being said I wouldn't trade playing high school football for anything. I also agree with football instilling a work ethic and discipline in a young mans life.
