Japan's Meteorological Agency says the magnitude of Friday's earthquake that hit the Pacific coast of northeastern Japan was 9.0 instead of 8.8 as earlier announced.

Those of you interested in photography can appreciate the Japanese expertise in this field. Canon reported no damage. Panasonic had couple factories to close as did Sony. Flash memory for many smartphones is made in this region. Before any comments, this pales in relation to the massive scope of this disaster, in human loss and horrendous suffering.

The videos and pictures of this are unbelievable. Unfortunately I don't think we've seen the worst of it for these people yet. Waterless, powerless, freezing. There will be a lot who die from illness. Prayers for these devistated people.

Seeing cars driving in the background, makes me wonder if these people made it to saftey?

I talked to my friend earlier today. He said that they are still having aftershocks. They are worried that one might be as powerful as the original one.

I wondered the same thing a few days ago when this video first came out either Sat or Sun. Didn't understand why the person shooting the video didn't stay on that area or at least go back to it? But then again with all that was going on and what they were going through, they may not have been thinking. If those cars going left to right, if they got to that bridge (just a few 100 feet away it looked) they would have been okay, it sort of looked like there were a lot of people at the end of it too.

I saw a few other videos that you seen cars and there was no way they make it...

I'd say when watching that type of video the best thing to do is pray for them and their families. I would venture to say however that most did not.

Means the next one is the wrath of god then correct?

 

We shal, however it's my opinion that the dates that should be looked at don't include 9-11-01 but rather the 2004 Tsunami in on December 26. While I don't believe that any of the dates above lead to anything larger, I'd say that in the date in 2004 which killed 100x's more people would probably be more significant, but then again that doesn't help the theory.

I found that area on Google Earth, and I don't think those people in the cars going towards the right made it as they were actually going down closer to sea level and towards the sea, the one's going left may have had a chance.
